Opaque brown pond water colour with a patchy tan head that is gone in a few seconds. Pretty light palate for the abv, it's also mildly dry and has a decent fine minerally carbonation. Bowmore! Could taste the peat immediately and braced myself for the normal bandaid onslaught. It never arrived. Sure there is savoury peat thing here, but this BW is also sherry barrel aged, or the Bowmore was finished in a sherry barrel perhaps. The point is, sherry to the rescue. Soft fruity sherry with a good depth to it, feels like a quality sherry. It also feels like it is holding a chair on its side and using the legs to force the snarling Bowmore in to a corner. A trace of chocolate on the semi dry finish. Highly entertaining and for me, about as good as a Bowmore beer can be.

33cl fles van Jopen. Donkerbruin, dunne beige kraag.

33cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Tderoeck. BB 07/2039, Lot#18231/11.

33 cl. bottle shared with Suus @ Alex and Suus. Dark brown with a thin off-white head. Massive peated whisky aroma. Sweet taste with a sweet finish. Whisky is overpowering everything else in the beer, no balance whatsoever. Still nice, however.

Aroma is extremely dry and woody. Like raw wood. Flavour is super dry too. The basis is good but the balance is off.

Sample from bottle at Logitech Bierproeverij 4. Color: Very dark ruby, thin beige head. Aroma: Peat, some iodine, bit boozy, sweetish Sherry hints. Taste: Peaty Whiskey, salty hints, a bit medicinal, boozy, roasted malt in background. Over moderate sweet and bitter. Some sweetish Sherry hints at the background. Nice one, although it's not that balanced. The Barrel is overwhelming the base beer.
