Foeder Cerise is a sour golden ale brewed with a mix of brettanomyces and several different souring cultures. We then age it for 6 months on top of Montmorency Cherries. The flavors produced are sour cherry and cinnamon with a touch of Brett funk. This batch comes from our 30bbl Italian oak Foeders.

Tap@Himmeriget, Copenhagen - Dark orange to red pour with a tiny white bubbly head. Tart fruity cherry prominence, some light cinnamon spice, notes of brett, cherry soaked oak wooden accents into the tart fruity finish.

Bottle from Beerdome.nl. Fresh woody sour cherry nose. The beer starts sour and woody tart. Very sour, deep and intense. Hints of spices, funk and sour cherries, brown sour aroma, deep and fruity. Great long intense fruity aftertaste, deep, funky-woody, round with dry sour cherries. Great!

Draft glass @ Gollem. Raspberry hazy red pink with zero head. Nose is acidic puckering raspberry pits, dirty funky vinegar cherry & lemon, faint watery. Taste is massively puckering acidic lemon, vinegar, stomach acid but the finish is great, bright cherry lingering low sweet cherry, low Jester King vibe here like a mix of Hanssens & Jester King. Very sour and puckering, harsh but the really good cherry finish in the back amongst it really helps it. Very nice and tasty.

375ml bottle (thx, Matthew G.!) shared with wife. Vintage 2015. Pours a rose-ish golden with a weak white head. Aroma is cherry, some barrel notes. Taste is similar with some subtle balsamic notes. Despite sourness is moderate, I would prefer it on the lower level. Good stuff, though.

Bottle, shared with Ratman197. Pours a hazy, pinkish-orange color, with a medium, fizzy, beige head. The nose is distinct sweet cherries, with some lemon zest, caramel, and cloves. Pretty sweet, with a lovely tart flavor. Medium to heavy body, with a thick, creamy feel. Nice, fruity sour.

(375ml 2015 bottle from kihoskh.dk) Pours a lightly hazed pink-tinged deep orange with a small but lasting white ring of bubbles and spotty lace. Aroma of bright sour cherries, cherry pit notes of almonds and cinnamon, quite tart, a little lemon, touches of funk and some soft oaky notes. Flavour is rather tart, lots of fairly bright sour cherry flesh, lemon zest, subtle acetic notes, fairly woody, lightly spiced with those cinnamon notes again towards the finish, a bit of almond in the finish as well, funk is extremely restrained. Hints of sweetness at times, a dry finish, lingering notes of cherry skins and spice. Medium bodied, light carbonation. Very nice, best of the handful of their beers I’ve tried.
