On tap at Beera Bar Riga, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has intense maple syrup and cinnamon upfront, with some vanilla in back. Flavour is adjunct city, with intense cinnamon upfront, followed by maple syrup and vanilla. If that sounds sweet, it’s actually not too bad; the cinnamon cuts down on the sweetness, such that the finish is quite bitter and spicy. Could use some barrels or at least some roasty underpinning to help complexify it. Not bad for what it is but not exactly my thing.

Keg.
Pitch black. Aroma of cinnamon bun from a meter away. Plums, coffee, pralines. Pastry sweet. Lingering plum liqueur feel (slivovitz)?

Smell of roasted malt, molasses, faint tobacco. Black colour, light brown head. Aroma of molasses, roasted malt, sugar. Oversweet. Foamy carbon.

Tap at Taphouse, Copenhagen (11/10/2024) (12% version) - Dark sweet roasted malty with lots of maple and caramel malty sweetness, some chocolate, spices, full bodied, spiced sweet maple laden finish. Great pastry action.

Undated can drunk 1/15/23. Dark. Tan head to ring immediately. Smells of medium roast and balancing vanilla and sweet base malt. Not overdone on the adjuncts, but the lactose is prominent. Not boozey. I will say, it tastes like lightly charred French toast. Not punishingly sweet. Kind of what is expected. Syrupy, quite sweet, lots of adjunct flavor. Burnt roast on the end is the best part, I think. Lingering vanilla bitterness. Super low carbonation. Warming alcohol builds up. Really just not worth putting this much booze in my body. The payoff isn't there in the case of this beer. Rather thin on the very end, as well. Alcohol emerges in the nose as it warms/breathes.

16oz can pours an oily, dark brown with some beige head. Nose is maple, vanilla, caramel, malt, some cinnamon and nutmeg too. Flavor is sweet, big sarsaparilla, then the maple and caramel, mostly. Full bodied, sweet finish. 7 3 7 2 13

Lots of French toast. Probably way too much French toast. Some roast and lots of caramel. Sweet and sticky finish. Can.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a deep, dark brown with a small bit of beige head that lingers. Cinnamon and chocolate on the nose. More cinnamon on the palate with vanilla as it warms. Balanced and smooth finish. Not as pastry as I expected. Pretty solid.
