Originally rated July 2005. This Rickard’s Pale Ale pours a golden-brown colour with a slight off-white creamy head, that has good retention and leaves thick foam lacing around the glass. That is the best part. Nose is malty grain with hints of coffee... which is weird because this one is far from roasted malts or any of that found in porters and stouts. Cannot see any carbonation and mouthfeel is flat and creamy. The taste looks like it might start with some bitterness, but falls short, to then end on a mildly sweet finish. Notes of apples are found in the aftertaste. Not bad, but nothing close to a good American pale ale.

Crystal clear light golden coloured body with a light, large bubbled head. Aroma of funky pale malt and some odd & stale sugars - no hops at all! Light bodied; Sharp funky pale taste with no sugars, no malt, no hops and just water. Overall, a very bad beer - not even worth drinking - I wish I didn’t use my suitcase space up by taking this beer with me from Montreal. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from a small convienience store in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 25-March-2006.

Draught, 20 ounces, drank at the Vancouver airport where I was wasting my time, savoured on February 10 2007; eye: amber, copper, clear, no effervescence, white head, lacing; nose: hops, malt; mouth: malt and hops in tiny quantities, acridness, finale in malt and hops that leaves the place to unpleasant acridness, light body, lightly infected (?), lightly bitter, average carbonation, lightly acidic; overall: once in enough FRANÇAIS En fût, 20 onces, bue à l’aéroport de Vancouver où j’y perdais mon temps, savourée le 10 février 2007; oeil : ambrée, cuivrée, claire, pas d’effervescence, petite mousse blanche, dentelle; nez : houblon, malt; bouche : malt et houblon en présence infime, âcreté, finale en malt et houblon qui cède le pas à une âcreté désagréable, corps léger, infecté légèrement (?), légèrement houblonnée, carbonatation moyenne, légèrement acide; en résumé : une fois c’est suffisant

Another IPA ripoff/insult to IPAs. Light sickly yellow piss from a dialysis unit. Its that ugly. Thin creamy white head. Sweet corn aroma. In mouth, oxidized sweet malts with remnants of hops and watery body.

Sampled draught. Deep golden. Sweet, fruity and mild. Papery crystal malt profile. A low amount of aromatic hops. Low bitterness.

Bottle: Poured a blonde color ale with very small head and no carbonation. Carbonation is quite weak and body is very thin. Aroma is also quite weak with a bit of floral malt and not much else. Taste is watery with subtle floral malt and very little else is going on here. Not as bad as totally lacking character.

Light. Has no taste. Mediocre is being too kind - this has no redeeming qualities. I'll drink Molson Golden before this.
