Dean Swift - RBESG Tasting. Opaque brown beer. No real head. Light dry palate, low carbonation. Ok choco-coffee. Dry finish with more mild coffee. Ok for it’s modest abv.

On tap @Naboen, Bergen. Pours pitch black, with a thick, creamy head. Sweetly aroma with notes of lightly burned malts and coffee. Pleasant lightly burned malty flavour, with notes of chocolate, biscuits and coffee. Finishes of with a lightly burned maltiness.

Bottle at RBESG Grand Tasting, held at Dean Swift. Nose of bourbon, chocolate, milk, vanilla, oak. Pretty tan lace on black beer. Flavor is wood, slight fruit, dry chocolate. Think and watery body. OK, but not up to the impression given by the nose.

Bottle. A big, collapsing, dense, beige head sits on top of a reddish dark brown body. Lacings left as the beer is drank. Roasted and burnt coffee-like aroma, nice but a bit one tracked. Dry, medium bodied and quite smooth in the mouth, with coffee, some chocolate and a roasted like bitterness in the end. A pleasant beer indeed, but it lacks depth. That’s sort of ok in a dry stout, but still... Far from bad in any way. 110204
