Cranachan is a traditional Scottish dessert made from raspberries, honey, toasted oats and cream. We love it. So we made an oatmeal pale ale and smashed it with
enough local berries to feed a clan of hungry Highlanders.

Pink-light amberish beer under a medium, dense, off-white head. Good carbonation. Sweetish nose, childrens’ fruitsweets, fondant sugar, suggesting artificial. Bitterish and at the same time fruitsyrup-sweet, with just a small CO² enhanced sourish touch. Again a perfect example of clashing flavours. By tasting, I cannot even confirm the fruit is raspberry. Good carbonation, fruitfilling, medium bodied at best. Not a success.

And so it came to pass that six like minded people met on the 20th day of November in the year of 2016: those six people shared twenty five fine beers. This is one of those twenty five. Only four of us remained when this beer was brought out, so a 330ml between four. Misty amber pour, off-white head on top. Raspberries rule the roost here in both the nose and taste, other fruits join in on the nose and flavour wise, but this is a Raspberry fest in a beer.

330ml bottle @ Rich’s 7k tasting, thanks to Richard Clink for this! Pours a murky orangey amber, thin off-white head. Aroma is raspberries which follows on to taste. Moderately sweet, lightly smooth with a little kiss of honey sweetness. Quite juicy. Another cracker from Fierce.

Craft 100. Clapham. Keg. Very hazy pinky peach colour beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has a good minerally crispness. Light fruits. Watermelon. Floral fruits. Light finish. Could be more intense but nice enough.

Keg at The University Club, Oxford, Tuesday 20th September 2016 Pours a slight murky reddy amber in colour wow this is great, first of all I get a burst of strawberry milkshake this is wonderfully fruity beer but the fruit and beer elements are very well integrated, nice smooth vanilla also shows. Loz is raving about this, she doesn’t pick up strawberry she gets raspberry overload, just read the description grrrr...... Loz is correct. Another interesting beer and brewery, much kudos to Kabi for tracking down beers like these! A7 A3 T7 P4 Ov15 3.6
