On tap at the brewpub.
Nice eqrthy hops in the nose, with a sloghtly tart, fresh berry aroma.
Light bitterness, the fruit seems to cut the hops. And the earthiness mingles well with the tart berries. Interesting, but it works!

Keg at Brasseur du Temps, Gatineau. Hazy nut brown, small head. Tart nose with raspberry and black currant. Rather tart with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Dry and lightly grainy the raspberry comes out more as tanninic black currant. Not complex. But quite good.

La Frambroyante, 5.5%, is interestingly enough a raspberry pale ale that pours a luscious ruby red. The aroma is sweet honey and raspberry & it has a sharp effervescent carbonation that somehow gives a pretty soft mouthfeel. It’s got a great honey + raspberry flavor which while mild is very tasty.

Decently pulled off for style. Pours ruby red with ok head and lacing. Raspberry integrates well here with hops and there’s still a little hint of barley in the background. Finishes a little on sour side with some sweetness and raspberry bitterness. Good. Tap at brewpub.

(9 janvier 2013)

Sampled from Lilihel’s glass at the pub (enjoying a camel burger with it). Pours an amber-purple colour with an off-white head that is creamy, with tiny bubble carbonation. Aromas of fresh raspberry, on the mild side, with notes of perfume. The mouthfeel is creamy. The raspberries are not as pronounced in the taste. Just a little tarty and not really sweet. This one does become much better as it warms up.

Slightly hszy reddish-brown. Both raspberries and spicy hops on the nose. The fruit lends accent to that earthy pale. Good balance and these flavours are surprisingly effective together.

Draft: Poured a deep clear reddish color ale with a faint pink head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of fresh raspberries is really enticing and enjoyable. Taste is a nice enough mix between some tart raspberries mix with some cereal with a dry finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well made though even more raspberries would have been better.
