Our winter strong ale has a gorgeous mahogany hue, a hint of hazelnut, and a finish reminiscent of mocha and toffee. No spices, just a perfect blend of five specialty malts.

355ml bottle. Cloudy, chestnut colour with small, frothy, diminishing, minimally lacing ,beige head. Sweet-ish, caramel malty and fruity aroma, hints of caramel and nougat, mandarine and orange, cherry and red berries, a touch of chocolate and coffee, dark toffee. Taste is sweet-ish malty and minimally dry, hoppy, fruity, hints of caramel and milk chocolate, a touch of toffee, nougat and rock sugar, hints of mandarine and orange, red berries; smooth and soft palate, fine and gentle, but efficacious carbonation. Quite complex.

Beery Christmas #24. Pours brown with some short-lived head. Aroma is very malty, with all the speciality malts shining. Lots of nuttiness and biscuity aromas, hints of chocolate. Medium to big body. Flavour is again dominated by malts. Really nutty and biscuity with some spice hints. Obviously not as spicy as with the actual addition of spices, but just being 5 malts very balanced and tasty and layered. Long nutty and slightly warming finish. Really nice winter strong ale, perfect style-wise.

Bottle shared by Caesar. Brown color, average sized beige head. Aroma and flavor are malts, raisins, slight toffee, liquorice wood, slightly sweetish. Decent to medium body, suitable soft carbonation. Nice!

Unadulterated malt joy. Winter in a bottle. Toffee, caramel, brûléed bananas, and dark fruits with a mild java bitterness and boozy warmth on the finish. Hops are an afterthought, as they should be with the style. Tasty.

12 oz can. Pours a dark mahogany with moderate head. Aromas of dark sugary fruit and sweet doughy malts. Flavors follow same with additional spicy dry caramel, Belgian yeast, candi sugar and rich malts.

Pours a rich mahogany from a tap, white head dissipates with some lacing. Aroma is a toasty toffee, a bit of dried fruit. Similar flavor. A bit thin, good beer.

Part of a flight in the Stadium Brewery, Aliso Viejo, California on 15th Dec 2017. Nice red hue to this amber/brown brew, wispy head. Malty and semi-sweet throughout, nutty, earthy and toffee in the flavours. Nice.
