As a finished beer, 14 is brimming with amazing flavors and textures. DDBA leads the blend lending American toasted oak, English caramel toffee and light leather nuances. Newcomer, Sticky Monkey, folds in the taste of brown sugar, molasses, cinnamon, ginger and ripe figs. Parabola brings the familiar flavors of bitter dark chocolate and cherry pit. Velvet Merkin carries silky bourbon soaked chocolate cake goodness to the party while a touch of Black Xantus teases coffee and tobacco. Last, but not least, Good Foot brings the hops... hints of citrus zest and tangerine, which adds a pop to the aroma and nice finish to this big, sexy brew. 14 is best enjoyed in a half filled brandy snifter or wine glass. Allow it to warm to 55F to fully enjoy the pleasing and complex aromas. If left in a cool dark place, I suspect this beer will age well. It was an absolute pleasure making it and I truly hope you enjoy our fifth oak–aged blend! The journey continues.

From a bottle circa 2010-11. Pours black with a small and quickly receding tan head. Aromas of prunes and dark cherries. Flavors are sweet pit fruits and mild bitter roast. Surprisingly good. Great actually.

Thank you ElManana+1! 655 ml. bottle sampled @ "Adam Chandler Visiting (for real this time)" Tasting. Black, little mocha bubbles. Nose has some varnish styled alcohol, faint plastic, boozy molasses & chocolate syrup. Taste is better nice mocha chocolate, boozy, varnish alcohol, chocolate, low red grape (the oxidation?), molasses, sugar, pralines. Molasses, near oxidation body. Good but quite rough around the edges, I do feel like I like this more fresh, still very good stuff.

Bottle at RBGT. Pours dark brown. Fresher aroma than 12 and 13, but also heavier and boozier, with more caramel. A little less to my taste.

Bottle shared at RBWG 16: Poured a brown with a off white head. Aroma is boozy malts. Taste is boozy malty some oak, but that booze smashes it.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy deep brown color ale with a medium size dark brown foamy head with light retention and some lacing. Aroma of bourbon and wood with some deep caramelized malt with some residual sugar notes is pretty nice. Taste is also a good mix of wood notes with some bourbon and light vanilla notes with some caramelized malt and some residual sugar notes. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation with light warming alcohol notes. Nice beer thought perhaps not the best from this series.

From bottle at BKL München 2016.
Dark brown body, with a tiny head.
Dense, comomex aroma of barrel, bourbon, chocolate, molasses, coffee, liquorice, caramel, cocoa.
Delicious, complex taste of cocoa, melting dark chocolate, bourbon, caramel, barrel, coffee, vanilla, dark fruits, booze.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes medium dry, medium boozy, astringent, roasty, medium sweet, with wood, cocoa, coffee, liquorice, bitter chocolate

Delicious! Very complex and dense, but still not too overwhelming, greatly balanced, with layers of smooth dark malts and barrel notes. Alcohol is there of course, but not too overpowering and providing a comfortable warmth. My favourite beer I’ve had from the Anniversary range so far.
