Stone 10th Anniversary IPA harkens back to our earlier Anniversary Ales, with abundant hopping at many stages of the brewing process. Appropriately, the aroma is over the top, with pronounced piney and resiny hop flavors combined with tropical fruit esters and more subtle notes of toasted malts and alcohol. Our Stone 10th Anniversary Ale weighs in at 10% alcohol by volume (perfect for a 10th anniversary beer), and has a little more color and malt character than our other IPAs. In addition to using the new Summit hop variety in the brewhouse to provide the powerful bitterness, we went back through our records and found some of our favorite hops over the years, and used them to flavor this brew, including Chinook, Crystal, and large doses of Simcoe in the dry hop to provide a huge, complex, piney, fruity and floral hop character. This is a colossal beer, big in every sense: hoppy, malty, rich, and strong! Right up our alley.

22 ounce bottle shared at Immy’s Backyard Gathering. Pours an amber color with a medium head. Average head retention and lacing. Aroma is toffee, citrus hops and something a bit cheesy. Taste is toffee and citrus hops. Very high bitterness level. Full bodied.

Bottle 1pt 6fl.oz. @ [ Chris O’s pre NYE Tasting ].[ Vintage 2006 ]. [ Courtesy of PhilL ]. Unclear medium orange color with a small to average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate to light heavy bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20081230]

Deep amber coloured body with a perfect sized tan head. Aroma of super strong Pacific NorthWest hops, bunches of malt and a ton of caramel. Full-bodied; Very strong and pungent hop flavour with good malt notes afterwards. Very good flavour and body - nice across the board! Aftertaste very bittered from the hops - a good experience! Overall, a damn good IPA - full bodied and fully hopped of course! Finally, a Stone beer that I actually like!!! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Portland, Oregon on 28-October-2006.

Bottle at Chris o New Year tasting 08/09. I think Phil l brought this, so thanks. Hazy cloudy amber colour, thin lasting beige head. Piney hop aroma. That’s a bit surprising. Perfumey. Not my favourite of the Stone beers. Very hoppy finish. I can see that it’s good, but it just didn’t do it for me.

Rerate Bottle share at RBBWG 2017, thanks for sharing. Orange léger, col blanc-cassé. Arôme est malté avec un renforcement de houblons C laissant une impression de tropical, herbacés et houblons fermentés, malt apporte une certaine consistance niveau des grains. Palais est herbacé, houblonné renfermé, gazon frais, pointe de citrique et agrumes avec léger résineux e pin en fin de bouche. Petite note de sucre résiduel poussant le tout à 10%, ce qui a pour effet de donner un côté réchauffant en bouche. 11/26/2008 On tap @ OTH, FL Stone kick off party. Pours orange, with white/beige head. Aroma is malty and fruity. Taste, sugary, fruity, lightly hoppy with some caramel malts. After taste remains quite hoppy. A good IPA but I saw nothing that would set it apart from all the other CA IPA’s. 7-3-7-4-15

From tap Stone Bistro. Pours hazy orange with a white and lacing head. Aroma is smooth caramel and mild hoppy, classic and inviting. Sweet and fruity initial flavour impression. Goes quite sweet and raisin fruity to almost sticky. Smooth hoppy and sweet finish.

September 9th 2006 bottle with nearly two years of age. This stuff is at its prime. Thick pour leaves a medium sized, rocky off-white head covering a hazy toffee colored body. Nice lacing left by the head. Smells like a nice barely wine with tons of toffee, caramel, plums and some faded hops and alcohol. Wow, taste is increadible, with caramel and lots of it, followed by alcohol then some light and faded citrus hop bitterness and a bit more malt and fruit (fresh juicy oranges mingle with plums, raspberries and rasins) in the finish. Perfectly aged, and at its prime. Light alcohol warming with a creamy mouthfeel and very faint bubbles. A great aged IIPA. I would buy a lot more of this, but I feel it won’t improve much beyond another year. To me, it its current state, it reminds me a lot of Old Guardian, only better!

Bouteille 650ml, courtoisie de Blankboy. De couleur ambrée et voilée. Nez malté de caramel sucré, de houblon résineux et légèrement citrique (pamplemousse), fruité (agrumes, pêches, notes d’abricots), moyen d’alcool et avec des notes de biscuits. Moyenne-ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture riche, résineuse et léger-moyen crémeuse. Goût moyen-amer de houblon résineux et légèrement citrique (pamplemousse – une amertume présente toute la gorgée) accompagné d’un goût fruité (agrumes sucrées, léger de pêche et d’abricots) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût malté de caramel assez sucré (léger de toffee et quelques traces terreuses) avec des notes de biscuits et de pain. Parallèlement, l’on retrouve un moyen goût d’alcool réchauffant jusqu’en finale, oû l’on assiste également à un regain d’amertume asséchante de houblon légèrement plus citrique et herbeux. Post-goût long et moyennement sec, moyen-amer de houblon résineux, moyennement citrique et légèrement herbeux, d’alcool doux et légèrement fruité (zest d’agrumes).

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very hazy caramel-brown color with a huge tan head. The aroma was strong harsh floral and fruity hops. The flavor was harsh, bitter and earthy with a multilayered floral and fruity hop presence. Rather like Arrogant Bastard but a little thicker and harsher.
