Bottle shared with friends. Hazy yellow with brief head. Funky with some cassis stems, surprisingly some stone fruit, wet leaves. Quite nice!

Taste is slightly dry sour-ish floral, weeds, hay, flowers, bark, oak, fruit stones, berry skin, sorrel, paper, minerals, herbs, unripe black currants, hints of mild vinegar. Medium bitterness, slightly dry sour-ish floral mouthfeel. Fair enough, kind of weird...

Bodney Towers Bottleshare. Thanks to Mr Tips. Light haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Light thin palate, dry and crispy. Wet wood and light lemony sourness. Nice balancing fresh orange. Woody dry bitterish finish. Not bad..

Bottle at LKS, thanks to Mr Tipple. It pours clear pale gold with a medium white head. The aroma is fresh, tart, soft berry, blackcurrant, lemon rind and citric acidity. The taste is crisp, quite clean, tart, funky, bright, blackcurrant, blackberry, drying, straw, vinous and wood with a firmly drying fibish. Medium body and moderate, lively carbonation. Well balanced. Rather enjoyable stuff.

Bottle shared in Hackney - cheers to Tipple. Pours mostly clear gold with a creamy, white head. A little funk in the nose, tangy lemon and tangerine. Light sweet flavour with moderate lemony tartness, some grass, woody dryness, some pine needles. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with some further citric bite, moderate acidity. Good stuff.

Bottle at home, 2015 vintage bottled 2016. Clear orange golden with fizzy off white head. Lots of hay, light spicy yeast, funk, white pepper, red grapes and a hint of wine, black currant, cassis, light bready malts. This is quite funky, and has a lemon tartness running through it. Light sweet, over light bitter and just medium sour. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. I love this, it’s pretty damn close to a good fruited lambic. Another underrated BFM gem.

Bottle sample @ Vine Birre Ribelli ’16.
