330ml bottle. Opaque, jet black colour with slightly late awakening, small, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Condensed, roasty, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, couverture, cocoa, dark caramel, Bourbon, vanilla, a touch of cinnamon, marmite, dried gingerbread, lovage as well; alcoholic overtones with a touch of rum and Bourbon. Taste is slightly dry, roasty, chocolately, dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, dry cocoa, mocha, subtle residual sweetness, some warming alcohol, weak spicy aspects, vanilla, cinnamon, aniseed; lingering, chocolately and slightly warming, alcoholic finish. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine, soft carbonation. Decent complexity, fairly balanced and harmonious, alcoholic of course but not substantially boozy - nice sipper.

21st Dec 2020, last Shrewsbury Beer Share of the year (in Chez Sophie). Cheers Mat for this 33cl bottle, my last beer of the evening as time caught up with us and I had a train to catch; so I rushed mine. Black body, tanned top. Not used to drinking Eisbock, so not really sure what I should be looking for, Stouts I know, this was very pleasant. Malty throughout with a singed chocolate feel, boozy and over roasted coffee hints.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Dec 20. Brought by me. Pitch black appearance, small tan head. Eis-stout eh? Yeah this has a nice peaty smoky roast character, strong of course, with a bittersweet balance to the coffee and peat roast and the bitter dark chocolate and alcohol warmth. Interesting and pretty good overall.

Bottle. Color: Black, light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, mocha, coffee. Taste: Dark roasted malt, smooth, silky and dense mouthfeel, notes of coffee and mocha and dark chocolate, boozy notes. Some floral and hop hints towards the long lasting finish. Over moderate bitterness and sweetness. Ok, but rather one dimensional, lacking some complexity.

Bottle picked up from the recent Craft Beer Festival in Munich from the brewers own stall. Consumed at home Sarurday 14th March 2020 watching Dark on Netflix after having a Aubergine Rolls (superb) and Spice Marinated Beef Kebabs (v.good) Pours black with a beige head. This is an Eisbock/Impy Stout it's 14%, it's super indulgent, smoot, really smooth and silky, lots of chocolate, creamy. This is really good, not at all boozy.

330mL bottle, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is full of oats, moderate roast, and a little chalk. Flavour is full of oats, intense roased malt, and booze. Lots of oats and roast, with just the right amount of booze to not be detracting. Excellent.
