Bottle@yesprs - Dark brown pour with beige head. Sweet malty aroma and taste with notes of chocolate, some caramel and fudge notes, a plethora of dark dried fruit, brown sugar, nice spices into the close. Lovely.

Bottle at home. 2013 vintage enjoyed on 28-03-2016. Aroma is oak, sweet malt, caramel, spices, ripe fruits, plum, sugar, raisins, touch of port, syrup, sweet chocolate, touch of vanilla. Flavour is quite sweet and a bit boozy. Body is medium. Wonderfully complex aroma, a nice rich sippin’ beer.

7 September 2022. Bottle from Struise shop (presumably). Vintage 2019. Bottled: 21/02/2020.
Cloudy black, stable, foamy, dark beige head. Aroma of prune, old date, green apple, cherry, almond, red wine, liqueur-filled praline, wood, vanilla. Taste has sweet date, cherry & prune and sourish brambleberry kept together by dark-chocolatey, almondy maltiness with a herbal note. Tart, dark-fruity finish, soft earthy hops, gentle wood & red wine-like alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, average carbonation. Not the most complex of Struise brews but very elegant in its own way.

(Bottle) Dark brown colour with brief, frothy, beige head. Malty, vinous nose with caramel, bread, dried apricots, chocolate/cherry pralines, orange peel, coffee and red wine. Malty, vinous taste with notes of caramel, chocolate, dark bread, cherries, raspberries, red wine, dried apricots, orange peel, tobacco, liquorice, coffee and a mild cacao bitterness in the finish. Full body, sweet. Really tasty and complex, with lots of falvours and a good wine barrel character. Very nice.
