Tart, with alot of acidity, and citrus zest. Grassy, and dry, with some herbal hop notes. Great mouth feel, lively carb. Crisp, dry finish, with alot of citrus and a typical vinous new Zealand hop quality. Great stuff.

From tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels. Aroma is very floral, grassy hops (typical Sauvin), peppery spicy yeast, fruity, a bit soapy. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied. Nice floral Saison, it certainly has a lot of character.

A hazed golden saison with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with fruity esters, light mineral notes, light resinous notes, pleasant. In mouth, sweet fruity malt with light grassy resinous hops, light fruity esters, pleasant.

Bottle, Legacy. Hazy, pale. Has a bright floral hop nose...kiwi hops always doing the floral thing. Dry, with a touch of classic saison yeastiness. The florals are still there in the finish, but more muted. Malts are nice. Pretty good.

Bomber from La Trappe à fromage. Pours a light golden colour with a frothy white head, good retention and a little lace. Beautiful Saison aromas with the Belgian Ale yeast and fresh grassy hops blended with the citrus notes. The hops are a little stronger in the taste adding some bitterness in the finish. The grassiness is mildly different from your typical Saison, but gets better with time. Hints of earthiness and citrus. A hoppier Saison, which is fine if you prefer this.

250 ml. glass draft @ Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Light hazy golden, big creamy white head. Lightly hazy golden, big creamy white head. Nose is sweet corn & butter base with bitter interesting green weeds hops. Taste has interesting elements, peppercorn, light green weeds & paprika (in an interesting & good green hops fashion), herbs, spices, floral, interesting hops profile completely drowned in a massive sweetness, vanilla, marzipan, sugar, butterscotch, sugar. Body is corn & vanilla. The base feels all wrong here, such massive sweetness, almost butterscotch with vanilla, waste of interesting hops in my opinion. It is a shame & another highly rated Canadian saison that is lost on me.

It starts like any mean-spirited 8-year-old, with stupid head. More than half the glass full of white head, with a thin-looking yellow gold malt under. But not that unusual for a sasion. Nice rich juicy nose of resin and citrus with a softer malt holding it all up. Taste is hop heavy, strong resin, bitterness softer citrus. If there is any sasion yeast under all that, I can’t taste it. But overall this is a hop beer that uses the a fairly neutral sasion base to show off. Overall good beer.

Pale yellow colour, white head. Sweaty aroma, resin, yeast, fruity hops. Bitter flavour, sweet note, yeast and malts. Malty finish, herbal, yeast and banana. Not as fruity as I might have expected, but a decent beer nonetheless.
