Horti-Glory is a tart, farmhouse ale brewed with Riverbend Malt and fermented with our house culture of brettanomyces. The addition of seasonal elderflowers, hyssop, and honeysuckle transform the rustic house culture into a lovely floral brett saison.

Bottle. Beermoth, Manchester. Gold, with a light haze. Thin, white head. Nose has floral honey. Sweet, biscuity malts. Brett doesn’t come through at all, rather than a sweet, Belgian yeast thing. Taste is light, sugary sweet. Minimal, herbal bitterness. Watery mouthfeel. Thin, honey sweet finish. Wow. This is poor.

Bottle at Cotteridge Wines tasting room; clear golden yellow pour with a thin off white head, aroma has some barnyard funk and floral action, taste has floral action, some honey, medicinal, light funk.

Bottle, 6%. Unclear dark yellow with medium off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, elderflower, spices, herbs, yeast and brett. Flavour is malt, brett, yeast, spices, yeast, medium dry, little honey?, little sweet and medium bitter.

50cl bottle pours a hazy gold with some clumpy, white head. Nose is floral, passion fruit, light candy, lemon. Flavor has passion fruit, lemon curd, perfume, flower petals, chrysanthemum tea. Lightly creamy, lightly tart finish.

500 ml. sampled. THANKS to Kraddel. Bottled 12.6.2015 (USA notation). Hazy citrus golden, small fine bubbles. Nose is faintly tart honey, lots of bread & cookie sweetness, light zest. Taste is largely one-note sweetness, honey, bread, flowers, light zest, sweet, simple & too thick, not crispy enough. Finish has an odd mineral quality to it which I am not really digging. Okay but def. below expectations.
