One of our ‘terroir’ beers, brewed with Gentian roots, traditionally used for a local liqueur, added at the very end of the boil. The aromas are peppery, earthy and floral. The mouthfeel is firstly of honey flavors then earthy, peppery and yellow fruits. The finish is delicate and long lasting.

Hazy amber beer, small white head. Floral notes and sherbet combine to give a somewhat kids sweet nose! Softish palate, semi dry. Mild carbonation. Sweet floral notes, dominate. Segues seamlessly in to sweet and mildly sherbet orange and peach. Finishes dry with the floral notes turning a little bitter. Pretty decent and unique beer which I guzzled with gusto.

A hazed golden ale with a thin white head, a bit lifeless. In aroma, a strange mix of fruity esters, wild grass, light sulfur, and ricolla candies. In mouth, a strange sweet candy sugar with lemon, Ricolla, a tad unfermented, OK. Bottle from Total Wine Summerlin for 2.99$, about 1 month old.

Bottle shared with cousins on Martha’s Vineyard, MA. Pours cloudy gold with a light, white foam head. Aroma holds some tangy grass. Medium sweet flavor, mild white bread, some lemon and faint herbal bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish of doughy malts, touches of tangy herbs and lemon, light grassy bitters. Lasting doughy malts. Kind of interesting, and decent.

Pours gold with a small head.Nose shows floral, herbal and soft fruity notes (apples, pears). Underneath is very faint honey and bready malt.Very floral flavours too, with what is presumably the gentian taking centre stage. Underneath is bready malt, honey and spicy hops.Carbonation is nicely high.

Growler. Gold with a modest white head that’s soon gone. Aroma of oranges, peaches, bitter herbs, licorice. Sweet with stone fruit, oranges, gentle herbal bitterness, pepper, licorice. A somewhat exotic golden ale that’s a bit oversweet for me.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours a cloudy golden with tiny impurities and a white head. Sweet fruity nose with a little spice. Medium body, sweet fruit, a little yeast and quite a fresh spiciness. Ends dry but not really hoppy. Pleasant. 180218
