Opaque black - brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy and dry. Light fine carbonation. Smooth but dry dark malts, little dry roast and bitterness. Touch of powdery dark chocolate. Finishes light and dry and bitter. Very little barrel character here. Very surprised by all these high rates, I found this most disappointing. Dry, bitter and dull.

Big brown creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet roasted, dark malts, roasted grain, puffed rice, roasted coffee, dark sugar, burnt caramel, hay, oak, licorice. Taste is slightly dry, roasted grain, oak, hay, roasted coffee, alcohol, minerals, burnt caramel, puffed rice, licorice, grass. Longlasting bitterness, dry mineraly mouthfeel. Nice enough.

DØE, 14. Very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel and liquorice. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, medium sweet, liquorice, caramel, hop and medium bitter.

Draft @ Ølfestival 2014. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with woody hints. Roasted malty chocolate bitter coffee flavor with woody hints. Has a roasted malty bitter chocolate and coffee woody finish.

Bouteille 375ml de HopDuvel, BB 26/03/2019. Noire, col épais crémeux moka. Arôme est malté, grains grillé, présence légère de sherry avec un boisé plus que léger. Au final, le bouquet pour une bière qui se targue d’être BA laisse à désirer. Palais offre des notes profondes de malts, un peu sec à l’influence anglaise. Léger grillé et pointe de chocolat. Retrait houblonné offrant une petite amertume sèche et une possible touche Cascade en agrumes? Note une pointe de brûlé sur une levure un peu belge. Seul bémol, le profil du sherry et du cognac peine vraiment à se faire présent et seul le sherry semble tirer son épingle du jeu. Ceci expliquant mon score surtout pour 8€ la bouteille. Sinon une bière agréable.

Sample from tap, CBF 2014. Pitch black with a creamy, tanned head. Sweet, roasted aroma with coffee, red berries, rich malts, chocolate, some barrel - cognac., light liquorice. Taste is sweet. Medium to full body with an oily texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and roasted with coffee and a hint of alcohol. Very nice Porter.
