440ml can from Morrisons. Eye - black, moderate aerated tanned head, some retention. Nose - big coffee bean aroma, malts and chocolate also. Taste - wow there are some levels of flavour here. Nice quality roasted coffee beans take centre stage but there is also vanilla, chocolate and also a very slightly sour fruity berry note which along with a mild sweetness helps to offset any bitterness. Palate - moderate to full body, smooth with a nice soft carbonation. Excellent.

Can from Mozzas. It pours darkest brown to black with a decent, but dissipating tan head. The aroma is rich roasty action, bitter - sweet, straight in with a lovely deep coffee character, chocolate cake, nutty, peanut butter cups, earthy, toast and a touch of spice. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, cacao, chocolate cake, earthy, deep coffee character, nutty, peanut brittle, toothy, chewy, salted caramel, maltesers, light spice and some wood with a dry, roasty finale. Medium+ body and fine to moderate carbonation. Lovely coffee character, particularly on the snout. Decent gear.

Can from Beer52. Black with a thin beige head. Viscous body nicely cut through with a middling fizz. Espresso, cocoa, leather, roasted malt, strawberry jam, vanilla and a spicy kick. Lovely brew, good depth of flavour. Yum.

330ml can @ Last Beer Tasting Before Lockdown 2.0, Chez Sophie, Oct 20. Thanks Mike for bringing this! Big coffee nose, continuing to taste really resonating throughout bolstered by cluttered dark roasted malts and a big bitterness. Some background berries and vanilla softening things, but the coffee seems quite shouty here. Good stuff.

[33cl can from Beer52.] An opaque dark coffee coloured pour with a tight beige coloured head; rich chocolatey coffee aroma; smooth in the mouth with a strong coffee taste and a deep bitterness from well roasted grains; then a dry finish with an oaty body and a satisfying warmth in the stomach. An excellent porter.
