This special roast is inspired by ‘Rosa’, a Jacques Brel tango. The beer was brewed with bread and without adding hops, following the example of the ancient Egyptians. Jan Dierickx Visschers, artisan baker at the Bosmolens in Izegem in Belgium, developed a new raisin bread together with BOM for the Rosie Rosa. This bread is made using blueberries from Meeuwen-Gruitrode and baked by BOM, apple and pear syrup from Vrolingen, gently roasted BOM barley malt, buckwheat flour, sourdough, and French wheat. The unique process creates in a delicious, blonde tango of artisan products.

75cl bottle at the 12th July 2016 Shrewsbury Bottle Share meeting: cheers Mat. Poured with a light haze, amber in colour with a decent white head. Aroma was of eating apples in a spice dusted yeast bucket. Taste followed along the same lines, add hedgerow fruits to the apples and a sweet candy bar into the mix and you have the flavour I detected. Different and interesting.

75cl bottle @ monthly tasting at Chez Sophie, July 16, brought by myself, picked up in Verheyde, Watou. Pours hazy amber, large white head. Aroma is sweet, yeasty, spice and hints of apple. Taste is sweet with hints of apple, raisin bread, cinnamon, yeast.. verges towards being overly sweet at times, but it has enough interesting moments to make its mark.

Slightly unclear amber colour, white had. Aroma of blueberries, malts, bread, rye bread. Sweet flavour, quite fruity, hint of bitterness. Quite fizzy. Finish blueberries, nice and fruity.

Pours unclear amber, small white head. Smell is sweet, malty-)but-different (I guess thats the bread) somewhat fruity, and a bit bitter. Taste is sharp, somewhat bitter, sweet, berries indeed, some kind of dough-taste. Sweet, complex aspects (raisins) . i like it, and its indeed different than the 14 editions. Very nice ! Earlier Rating: 10/19/2015 Total Score: 3.7Bottle. Pours darker , hazy amberblonde. Good white head. Smell is raisin, weird kind of sweetness I haven’t really had before in beer. I guess the weird ingredients are the cause ? Taste is bit bitter, sharp, yeasty, not as weird as anticipated. To high carbonated. Got some metallic ( copper ) notes towards the end. Slow sipper due to the way to high carbonation. Aftertaste is a rather herbal mixture, I do recognize some raisins, and get some sweet, mild fruity tones. Way more complex than the first sips suggest. I stand by my opinion that this would do way better with less carbo. Very elegant in the aftertaste though, making the experience very complex and ultimately subtile. I don’t catch the negativity around this beer, even though I do realize this is not the best this brewery made so far.

Huge, dense, yellow head over finely carbonated, metallic copperish-golden beer; some lace. Quite roasted, "hot" nose, malts, some spices, dried/preserved orange peel. Medicinal, pharmaceutical flavour. Again malt, bready, sweet. Hints at citrus (orange); rather liqueurish. Retronasal some mild mint. Very oily-slick feel, well bodied, well-carbonated. Long lasting flavours, mainly sweet. Not exactly Bert’s best. And you’ll have to relearn your first declension, my friend!

Thanks to ElManana +1. 750 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBWG IV. Almost clear golden, egg-white head. Sweetish yeast, sugar nose, esters, light rubbing alcohol. Taste is boozy, sweet white sugar, soap, dough, cheap ester-like apple,..; White sugar & soap body. For something with this many interesting ingredients & from a brewery that has made interesting beers in the past, this one was quite a disappointment.

14/II/15 - 75cl bottle @ RBBWG IV (Beerlover_Ben's place) - BB: n/a (2015-190) Thanks to ElManana+1 for sharing the bottle!
Clear dark blond beer, irregular white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very very yeasty, coriander, sweet, some orange peel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: yeasty, fruity esters, bit sweet, spicy, coriander. Aftertaste: some citrus, lots of banana, sweet, yeast, more banana. Concept beer, the concept of which you cannot taste, because the yeast overpowered or ate everything else. Ridiculously expensive!
