33 cl. bottle sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2013. Dark brown, small white head. Nose is full of sweet spices, herbal, liquorish & caramel. Taste is sweet liquorish, touch anis, herbal, sticky spices, touch kitchen spices, dried fruits, touch bread. Touch fuller body. Okay brew, not stellar. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Bière des Fêtes on 26 Apr 2015 at 06:02 - Score: Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 2 | Flavor - 2 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 2. Original review text: Sampled @ ZBF 2015. Possibly the same beer as “Saint-Monon Bière des Fêtes”? The names seem rather similar to me. Murky brown, little mocha head. Nose is sour, sour herbs, rotting, fizzy, totally off. Taste is thin, fizzy, sour, rotting, soap, nasty,… Totally off beer. (Thx! for sharing people!)

150cl Sample glass at the 18th Essen Christmas Beerfestival on 15 Dec 2012. Deep reddy brown body with a fast fading beige head. I think I found some of the ’Thyme’ in the nose, at least I tried too find it. Yeasty and malty notes hide the ’Thyme’ mostly. The taste was regular Belgian Christmas fare, spicy and heavy. OK and different, would have liked another one, but there were so many to try.

Bouteille 33cl.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Ruby clear, thin lasting beige. Mint choc chip and fruit on aroma. A bit like that in the mouth too. Definite milk choc, some cherry and a bit of mint. A think you would call it a bit of a curate’s egg. I suppose it’s the spices that give it that minty edge. Drinkable, but bloody odd. I do quite like it. Does have a quality. Character, which I like.
