Can. Amber with an off white head. Aroma of berries, oranges, spicy bread. Lightish bodied, moderate to high carbonation. Much punchier spices than suggested by the aroma. Fruity in a bubblegum sort of way - berries, peach. Dry with moderate bitterness at the end, where those spicy rye notes go on. Refreshing. At first I thought the rye was too much but it ends up as quite harmonious.

330 ml. can sampled @ “Tim’s Christmas Tasting”. BBF 09/2016. Brilliant name. Hazy red amber, off-white bubbly head. Nose is sweet herbal malts, black bread with light odd strawberry & herbal insecticide hops not too dissimilar from those in Nanny State. Taste is the same weird herbal, insecticide hops, chemical, light mold, herbal, dark German bread,… Body is black bread, touch watery, insecticide,… This hop profile doesn’t really do it for me. Not too crazy about this one.

From a stylish craft beer can. Very thick, frothy, thickly lacing, dense, egg-white head over a hazy coppery amber coloured beer with faintly brownish hue. Pleasantly ’dank’ but otherwise not very strong aroma of pink grapefruit, pine resin, toasted brown bread, hazelnuts, green pepper, bitter honey, caramel, peach, strawberry, orange peel, wet leather, some very ’natural’ and undisturbing, inherent iron. Fruity onset with sweetishness of red apple and apricot on the one hand and sourishness of red berries and refreshing citrus flesh on the other hand; slightly above average carbonation, adding a minerally note. Light green olive-like umami flavour hides somewhere too. Mouthfeel is fairly thick for a 5.3% beer, a bit oily and supple. Middle phase consists of nutty and toasted maltiness, bittersweetish, adorned with the typical ’deep’ and soft spiciness of rye, but already overshadowed by a strong hop bitterness, ending resiny, dried citrus peel- and tonic water-like, a bit earthy and herbal as well, with both a deeply bittering effect drying the throat almost completely, and an aromatic pine- and pepper-like fragrance retronasally. Very appetizing beer, not overly complex but flawless and characterful enough in the hops department. In terms of style: rye IPA indeed, with certain English bitter (or better: ESB)- and even American amber ale-like features. Highly enjoyable, making me curious of the rest of Moor’s range.

Can from Cork & Cask. Hazy amber body with a thick off-white head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of tea, caramel, floral hops and red apple. Flavour of orange, toffee, spicy hops and wood. Dry finish. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. I really enjoyed this - it’s like a hopped-up Bitter.
