Dark red-brown colour. A firm creamy and cream-coloured head. The smell of roasted malt, caramel and the sweet fruitiness of the alcohol give this beer the perfect aroma. Flavour: Caramel, sweet fruitiness and a pleasant bitterness are the predominant flavours. The aftertaste reveals a pinch of toffee and date.

Huyghe often has a special dry-sweet yeast. This one has that as well. It makes this otherwise ordinary Belgian blond a little bit more special.

Bardzo dobre. Przypomine red flemish Ale poniewaz jest rubinowo czerwone, a po przelaniu wraz z osadem brazowo-bordowe. Piana solidna i wielka i trwala. Zapach octowy troche winny. W smaku takze troche cierpkie i octowe. Troche ciemnych winogron w tle. Finisz dlugi i kwaskowaty. Bardzo dobry wyrob, najlepszy jaki browar oferuje w swojej bardzo szerokiej ofercie

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, dark amber to brown colour with a big and tanned foamy head. Slightly sugary toast-malty aroma with notes of dark and red berries, also hints of alcohol. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Toasty malt-character with notes of candy sugar, berry fruits and a tinge of caramel; sweet and fruity finish with a mildly spicy and alcoholic touch. 21.II.13

My favorite beer from this brewer to date. Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with a large foamy beige head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tart and sour raisin, fig, cherry, molasses, anise and bread. The flavor was sour caramel, nut, bread, light tart cherries, fig, port wine and vanilla cream. The finish was long with caramel, fig and molasses lingering. Moderately full bodied and creamy. Excellent.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm, 11 July 2011) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, dried fruit, raisins and brown sugar. Malty taste with caramel, dried fruit, prunes, dark bread and a spicy finish. More than medium body, fairly sweet. Quite nice.

Very much like the dark brown color of this beer, but the smell is pretty average and so is the taste. Body and carbo not great either.
