A big, well laced white head over an amber body. Aroma packs a punch with zesty fruit and yeast esters. This Tripel has the balance and complexity I was looking for. Brown sugar, understated Belgian yeast, plums, apples and prunes are all there over sweet malt. Slightly sticky and very smooth, lightened by a healthy acidity.

Wet grass, mixed with light fruit notes. Some malted grains in the flavor, with more of the wet grass, and stake hops. really nothing special .

Zoot a cloudy light gold with a filmy off-white head. A fruity bready light malt aroma. The taste is soft, easy drinking sugary biscuity wheaty light malts with a dash of citrus. --- this must be a summer wheat version this wasn’t an abbey triple...

From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity, phenolic and light spiced. Sweet malty, light fruity, subdued spiced and phenolic flavoured. Sweet and light spiced finish. Subdued bitterness.

Tap at the brewpub. This is one of the best tripel’s I have had on tap in a while. They did a very good job, it wasn’t too sweet and it was well conditioned (as opposed to the other tripel at a brewpub I had in Montreal). Nice esters with good Belgian sweetness with the usual negative suspects. Alcohol present but well integrated into the beer.

Draft: Poured a beige color ale with a small foamy head with good retention. Aroma consists of light fruity ester and subtle peppery yeast with a semi sweet malt base. Taste is a bit disappointing (probably somewhat due to the fact that I had this right after their Ergot) with light peppery yeast notes and even subtler fruity ester with an OK malt backbone. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. OK but not as par as some of the staple of the style.

A hazy golden ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, nice and intense spices, coriander, orange peels, bready yeasts, perfumey and classy. In mouth, a silky triple with candy sugars, loads of curacao, light yet sustained spiced hops, very good. Rich and silky. On tap at brewpub, Sept. 5 2009.
