Since we heard that doctor’s used to advise recovering athletes to drink Stout, we just had to develop our own remedy recipe! Our newest beer idea is based on Stout’s history of being a ’strong’ beer. To reflect this, the oatmeal Stout’s taste itself is dark and velvety with a defined roasted flavour.

50 cl. bottle sampled @ RBESG 2013. Thx! to chriso & Boudicca. Blackish, very dark brown, almost no mocha head. Nose is very creamy mocha, creamy coffee, vanilla, light roast. Taste is creamy mocha, light vinous streak, touch roast, creamy vanilla, vanilla beans, light syrup coffe grounds. Lightly creamy body, mmm very yummy.

Bottled @ RBESG 2013 Grand Tasting. Dark color. Fruity aroma, roasted malts, dark red fruit. Chocolat, coffee. Quite typical english brew actually, difficult to describe what gives that sensation, but I think it’s the combination of english malts, with fruitiness of the yeast and perhaps some english hops. Nice brew.

Bottle from Oddbins London Bridge I’d guess. Black beer with a lasting thin tan head. Roasted malt aroma with choc and coffee. A solid stout. I’ve been pretty impressed with the bottled Moncada beers. Solid, good clean flavours..

Bottle at home from london bridge oddbins. Pour is opaque black caramel with a thin reluctant tan head. Aroma is chalky choc and roast. Also some light dried fruit in the nose. Flavour is dry roast, some dark chocolate. Acidic roasty finish. Long roast duration. High carbonation for a stout. Dry finish. Good stout.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at THE Kris Wines. Pours dark brown with a thick, creamy beige head. Aroma holds lots of burnt malts, charred wood, baking cocoa and tobacco. Light to medium sweet flavor, lots of charred malts, faint leathery and tabgy dark fruits, bitter earth, cocoa, dirt. Light to medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Earthy bitter finish, more baking cocoa, some burnt grass, crunchy leaves, tobacco. Good stuff. Really good stuff.
