Évaluation no. 125 Août 2011 Cuvée 2010. Un nez avec beaucoup de banane. De couleur blonde, très claire, une mousse très généreuse et persistante. En bouche: banane, orange, fraises framboises en attaque. Les malts caramélisés ressortent en finale. Superbe complexité

Light orange golden beer, white head. Sweet malty aroma, spicy yeast, fruity esters, quite a lot of candy, banana. Light bitter, sweet malty flavour. Quite fizzy, champagne like. Malty finish with lots of fruity esters.
Not bad, not bad at all. But it does feel a bit like a cheap champagne, and I imagine that’s not quite the idea the brewer had in mind.

75 cl. bottle sampled @ Modeste 2012 - apparently they do the whole Champagne process in house because shipping back and forth to France would be to expensive, brewed with Champagne yeast - bottle is slowly foaming once opened, the Champagne yeast is lively - dense bubbles in the white head, body looks bit Champagne like - spritzy nose, ester heavy, orange rinds, champagne alcohol coming through, yeast - light Champagne booze coming through in the taste, heavy on esters, the yeast, spice full, floral - carb. heavy, aggressive - once highly critical of the style, this one I can admire - big hit with the company, non-beergeeks, every day drinkers, one took a bottle home, this impresses easily all pallets, good stuff

Little cloudy orange beer, aery white head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, peaches, melon, sweet, white candi sugar, yeast, bit dusty, overripe banana. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, candi sugar, ripe banana, some spices, bit peppery, chillies, soem alcohol. Aftertaste: sweet, yeasty, banana, little bitter, citrus, (candied) orange peel, alcohol, some spices (cloves?). Alas, not impressed. :-(

Hazy amber and lots of head. Champagne-ish aroma, stylish and refined, with zesty floral notes. Hoppy, dry and with dry spice and florals. Good stuff.

Fountaining foam to fast dwindling fluffy white head over clear metallic, pale copper (rest of...) beer. Vegetable nose with cooked celery and lots of coriander, fake citrus, yeasty, spiced-sweet, dried apricot. Coriander onslaught on top of toast(ed malts). Orange and apricots on alcohol. Harsh, intimidating and in the end, pretty unrefined. Some strange (milk)chocolate touches upon swallowing. Fizzy carbonation. Quite slick but only medium bodied. Alcoholwarming. Another one to add to http://international.hoppress.com/2011/08/03/wine-is-wine-and-beer-is-champagne/ one that had no doubt been better if they had kept brewing beer, instead of mocking Champagne. txs to the generosity of Chris Achouffe and the people @ Geers!

Bottle shared with Yanick. Pours slightly hazy gold. White head. Nose of champagne yeast, light fruits, orange peel and lemon zest. Taste of same with some alcohol lingering in the finish. Medium body.

2010 vintage. A hazed dark amber ale with a thin creamy lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with dark fruits, curacao, coriander, alcohol warmth, light oxydation. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with candy sugar, light curacao, alcohol warmth, very nice for a 10 year old beer.

bottle generously shared by Kyle at our mini-tasting at AZ wine during RBWG. This stuff poured a bright gold with a tall frothy white head. Aroma is slightly acidic with citrus fruits and dry champagne yeast. Flavor was very bright and effervescent pale malts with a bit of fruitiness from the yeast ending dry. One of the best Brutes I have had.

Bouteille 750ml titrant 11% d’alcool.
