33cl bottle: BB 13th October 2023. Poured into an old Chimay chalice at home on 14th February 2023. Deep ruby red/brown, soft tanned head. It's sweet and malty, a bit 'thin' body and flavour wise really. Head fell away to a wisp and collar very quickly too. Not overly impressed to be honest.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Label ‘Peerdevisscher Bruin/Brune 6.5%’. Pours a very dark drown with a reddish hue and a one finger creamy beige head. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, dry dark fruits, liquorice and molasses. Taste is very similar to the aroma with the same notes detected. Thin body and slightly fizzy palate. Goes down very well. Very thin almost watery so could do with more body but other than that it is a pretty decent Dubbel.

33cl bottle as “Peerdevisscher Bruin” from Spar Oostende. F: big, tanned, good retention. C: black, opaque. A: dark roasted malts, cocoa, bit coffee, caramel, bit molasses, dark dried fruits. T: medium malty base, light caramel, bit like red berries, cocoa, dry on the palate, medium carbonation, not so sweet and quite good balanced, enjoyed.

24/10/2016 @home - 25cl bottle from a trade with jerre. Red amber colour with pearly quickly fading head. Nose is caramel, overripe banana, dried fruits metallic. Taste is all the same, too metallic to realy enjoy. Would swear I already drank this under another name.

Thx. to Julien & Sebletitje. 33 cl. bottle split by two @ Delirium Cave. No label - date on cap appears to indicate this a 2010 Vintage. Appears to have been a draft at some time in a bar with the same name - the date on the cap appears to indicate that this was a professional bottling job - perhaps they bottled some for take away or who knows by now? Pours a brown ruby amber with a very brief head. Smell is a tad sour like uneatable berries, molasses, sweeter malts and some chocolate. Taste is quite heavy on cough syrup, sweet, brown sugar, licorice, molasses, mocha, tad bitter with some berries but above all cough syrup which also more or less how the body feels like. Actually not bad and quite an intriguing oddity. Apparently this by Strubbe - def. better than most of their stuff.

33cl bottle courtesy of Julien, split with 77ships during our raid the Delirium Cave extravaganza. Bottle from circa 2010. Brune acajou, col fin beige.
