Dry-hopped Weizen Bock-style wheat beer, the Dolden Bock is orange-colored with creamy foam. The aromas are sweet, ripe fruit (banana) and yeast. On the palate the scents are well balanced between the fruity notes and the more floral and herbaceous notes given by hops.

“Riedenburger Brauhaus Doldenbock“, Flasche (33 cl) von Bio Company, Berlin. - Orangebraun, milchig trüb mit zahllosen unappetitlichen Hefeteilchen. - In der Nase füllige obergärige Weizenbierigkeit und intensive exotische Hopfennoten: scharfe Zitrusfrucht, Kräuter, weißer Pfeffer. - Im Antrunk intensiver, fruchtig-herber Hopfen, Pfirsich, herbe Orangenschale, kühlende Minze. Breites karamelliges Weizenmalz, aufgelockert durch spritzige Frucht und elegante Herbe von großer Raffinesse. Mild rezent, ölig schwer. Gut kräuterig-herber, leicht pfeffriger Abgang. - Ausgezeichneter Weizenbock mit sehr prägnanter Hopfung, nicht so bananig-süß wie viele, dabei rund und gediegen.

330 ml bottle. Cloudy bright orange, medium head. Fruity hoppy nose. Grapefruit, lemon peel, clove, passion fruit, pine, citrus. Fruity bitterness with sour hint. Creamy texture, medium bodied, soft carbonated. Slightly alcoholic. Nice fruity and hoppy Weizenbock.

Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As Riedenburger Dolden Bock ].Murky matt medium orange colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, light hoppy, moderate yeasty, fruity yeast, dusty, banana, peach. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, weizen yeast, banana, fruity yeast, dusty, sweet yeast, peach. Bottled. Hazy orange colour with a mediumsized creamy head. Aroma is some bananas, citrus, mild alcohol as well as some yeasty and wheat notes. Flavour is quite similar, but rather bodied and hence hides the alcohol rather well. Smooth and nicely bodied.

Bottle. Muddy dark orange. Head dissappears immediately. Aroma is floral and fruity. Hops and apricots. Taste is fruity and equally malty sweet and hoppy bitter. Apricots, peaches, wheat and a trace of bananas. Some sour lemons in the finish. Medium carbonation. Good mouthfeel. Balanced. Alcohol doesn’t stick out. Feels pretty light for a Weizenbock - in a good way. Very nice.

Hazy, yellow colored, medium- white head. Aroma is of banana, clove, quite phenolic, some alcohol, more stale banana. Taste is medium sweet banana with some bready notes, cloves with lots of phenolic notes, yeast, medium- bitterness, dry finish, some alcohol. Medium+ bodied, soft carbonation, bit creamy.

*Nice smooth yeasty banana clove with a floral and piny aroma. Fresh, smooth, moderate soft bitterness. Intense, sticky, fruity and well hopped. Nice aromatic brew!

Last rate of the Medulin festival. Thanks veceo and azzie! Opaque ochre body with a small white head. Creamy aroma, perfumey, banana and strawberry, quite nice. Silky light taste, banana, slightly oily, a touch of alcohol, ending dry. Underwhelming after the aroma, but not the worst beer around. Solid weizenbock.

Bottle from ErlangerNick. Thanks Nick. Hazy cloudy murky brown with thin beige head. A bit odd. Some banana. Some esters. Quite light for a weizen bock. Some sweetness. Toffee banana. Bit fizzy. A bit too easy drinking for the banana toffee. Lacks a little character. OK.
