Velvety and full-bodied, thanks to the amount of oats. The bitterness comes from the roasted malts and from the English hops we used, giving a pleasing alternation between roasted and green/grassy flavors. Alcoholwise, it’s 8% is in between the more classic predecessors and the modern interpretations.
No frills, no odd additives but a straightforward, no-nonsense, highly drinkable oatmeal stout.

Can from Bierwinkel Hop, Amersfoort. Nicely roasty aroma with coffee, dark chocolate. Nicely roasty, above medium body. Rudimentary but wholesome Stout, easy drinkability and a nice dark aroma.

Can from Fin, thanks! Drunk while soldering. Super dark work a nice fine-bubbled tan head. Nose is dry, roasty, coffee. Not too sweet for 8%! Nice mix of soy-salty umami, thick tongue-coating roasted chocolate malt flavor, clean earthy bitterness. Good one at the end of the night.

Can (Cellars Bentleigh). Almost black with a tan head that settles to a cm. Aroma of fairly strong roast, licorice, (very Belgian) dark sugars, some blackberries, mocha. Bittersweet - quite sweet chocolate brioche countered straight away by roast and then slightly herbal bitterness at the end. A silkiness from the oats. Good. Nice balance. Not trying to be too fancy.

33cl can, BB 06/2022, batch #DOK64.

Can picked up from Belgiuminabox webshop, Antwerp, Belgium and consumed at home Sunday 14th December 2020 listening to Dream Wife - So when you gonna.... We had Italian sausage with lentils and fennel for tea. This pours black, there is a light tan head, creamy mouthfeel, coffee and some dates on the nose these following into flavour department also. Smooth, nice richness, this is a very good, simple and well put together stout.

Can, thanks Fin! Darkest brown, creamy dark brown head. Bready roast, dark chocolate aroma. Medium body, solid dry mouthfeel. Light metallic, strong roast edges, a good amount of soy/umami. A bit licorice, sparkles of boozy berries, burnt bread and smoke notes retronasal.
