Classic West Coast IPA Big Eagle was first brewed in May 2016 as Hoppy IPA and it gained rave reviews yet it was retired after 3 years so we could focus on newer exciting brews. Well we really missed it, and decided to bring it back for our 4th Birthday. So we've taken advantage of the awesome hop contracts we now have and given it a bit of oomph!

Return to 6.4% ABV circa 2021.

Can at work. An interesting combination of an old school English IPA and a west coast, and it works quite well. Pleasantly dry and bitter, earthy, citric, somewhat resinous. Moreish.

(Draught at Mother Kelly's Bethnal Green, London, 22 Nov 2024) Amber colour with frothy, tan head. Malty, hoppy nose with citrus, orange peel and black-currant. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of toast, dried apricots, orange peel, resin, pink grapefruit and a balanced citric/resiny bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well made, with a generous hop presence. Very nice.

Can 6.4% picked up from www drankgigant.nl, Webshop, Vlissingen, Netherlands consumed at home Sunday 11th April 2021 listening to Black Country New Road - For the First Time . We have a Roast Chicken with Coffee and Chocolate Mole tonight. Pours mid amber with a white head, hazy appearance. Bitter and dry, a furry edge to this, piney and resinous, malty, perhaps would benefit from a little sweetness. Good though.

ABV: 6.4% hazy orange to amber colour, large, dense and long lasting ecru-ish head; aroma of resiny, grapefruity, tropical fruity, biscuity and surprising smokey-bacon notes; hop dominant taste with the same notes as can be felt in the aroma and definite smoke beer-like notes (i.e. some smoked ham or cheese and toasted rye bread); good one, but definitely not a typical IPA
