East or West? In the name of experimentation we have created a version of each style, brewed with the same quantities of Loral, Citra, Summit, Chinook and Zeus hops, but using different yeast for each.

Our East Coast version brings a typical haze for the style with juicy hops, low-bitterness and a smooth, soft finish.

Our West Coast version pours brighter with a pronounced and assertive bitterness as well as notes of citrus and pine.

Which is your favourite?

330ml can from Beer 52 subscription box @ 6%. Look - hazy orange-gold, small white head, nice retention and lacing. Nose - passionfruit, earthy, lemon, citrus zest, dank. Taste - citrus, melon, passionfruit, pine resin, stone fruits. Quite a full flavour, maybe a bit sickly in a strange way even though its not too sweet. Palate - medium bodied, a bit chewy, average carbonation. It has character but I'm finding this slow going. Maybe I'm too used to quaffing pale beers but this is certainly a sipper.

Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 02/04/21. Lightly hazed orange golden with a good sized off white cap that stays for the show. Nose is orange pith, grass, tangerine, melon, airy malts, citric tinged straw. Taste comprises orange zest, light floral notes, melon, lychee, grass, airy malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with balanced juicy hop bitterness. Decent enough easy drinking pale.

Tight white head stayed on a hazy lemon coloured body. Juicy tropical aroma. Medium bodied, soft, tingly on the back & limp on the aft. Pineapple, stone fruit, chalk & sweet citrus tastes. Lacking in all parts.
