The darkest member of the 8.6 pack. Black and robust with an exceptionally strong body. This lager is made from burnt barley, like roasted coffee beans for a full and intense flavour. It has a light and creamy texture and a pleasantly sweet taste finish. 8.6 Black is brewed with natural mineral water from our own spring and the best barley malt and hops. It takes character to tame this impressive black wolf.

My new local liquor store may in fact be dog shit, but it has this beauty. Who doesn't love a strong lager shit tick?
It's dark, but it's got more amber and haze than I was expecting. I should really learn to lower my expectations with this type of thing, but I'm like golden retriever level optimistic about my industrial strong lagers for some reason. Decent head.
Smells, thin, crackery, maybe some caramel. Now we're talking. Bring on the suck.
Caramel, maybe toffee, some odd almost apple, okay we'll say it's autumnal. Some alcohol of course. This is quasi-incoherent. Like trying to understand Jamaican patois. I get what they're trying to do here, but I don't really grasp the execution. Why is there a hint of richness, like they're trying to make a serious beer? And yet, they are clearly not a serious brewery.
This reminds of the time Pacific Western tried to make a barley wine.

Clean, brown colour with some amber-ruby highlights, a light-beige frothy head, good stay and sticky lacing. Some roasted malt in the nose, with a tad sour cream, wet cardboard and a touch of grass. The mouthfeel is kind of creamy, not overly thick, nor syrupy with a certain wetness. A little chocolat in the taste, hints of molasses, blending with the roasted-caramel malts. Nothing too offensive, but still feels like a Macro, with some unbalanced notes.

0,5 enkeltmannspakke fra lokal supermercado, på balconasen i Funchal: brunsvart med ok skum. Deilig aroma og smak av mørkrøstede malter, kaffe, 70%-chokolader og fin furunålsbitterhet. Tørr avslutning med mersmak, definitivt den beste i 8.6-serien.

Довольно сносный но слишком дорогой в соотношение качеству и цены Балтийский портер из Голландии. Вкус очень сладкой карамели и хлеба. В послевкусие чересчур сильно чувствуется алкоголь.

Can 50 cl. Clear, dark brown with an orange hue and a lacing, beige head. Sweet roast nose with some licorice. Solid body, sweet and roasty with those licorice notes shining throughout. Subdued bitterness. A surprisingly smooth and pleasant Sweet Stout. 230924

0,5l can from E.Leclerc LANGRES, France. F: medium, tanned, quick gone. C: very dark brown. A: roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, cocoa, nutty, dark fruits. T: medium to full malty base, roasted tones, cocoa, bit nutty, plums, bit weak bitterness, medium carbonation, dry on the palate, bit better than I expected, partially enjoyed.

500 ml can, from a minimarket in Funchal. ABV is 7.9%. Black colour, moderate beige head. Moderate roasty aroma, a hint of chocolate. Fairly smooth flavour, very subdued roastiness, some sweetness but not too much, again a hint of chocolate.
