The darkest member of the 8.6 pack. Black and robust with an exceptionally strong body. This lager is made from burnt barley, like roasted coffee beans for a full and intense flavour. It has a light and creamy texture and a pleasantly sweet taste finish. 8.6 Black is brewed with natural mineral water from our own spring and the best barley malt and hops. It takes character to tame this impressive black wolf.

Can shared with and courtesy of Deanso. Poured a clear dark brown with a fizzy short-lived off white head and a few bubbles. The aroma is roasty malt, light dry smoke, some hop notes. The flavour is liqourice bitter, light sweet with a light, crisp, bubbly, treacle, light fruit, light spice, dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

500mL bottle, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, alcohol, and a little cocoa. Flavour is very sweet, with artificial vanilla and cocoa, toasted bread, and cloying residual sugar. Too sweet and somewhat artificial, which becomes more and more apparent with each sip, becoming rather undrinkable. Not quite a disaster, but it really isn't pleasant.

500ml can. Clear very dark mahogany color with a beige head and good retention. Very dark roasted malt flavor; Almost burnt. Tastes good until the 7.9 ABV burn follows. Smooth. Light creamy mouthfeel. A little malt liquor-like tasting.
