Хороший аромат, но не резкий и глубокий. Есть темные фрукты и бочка, винные нотки. Цвет оригинальный, пенка хорошая, шипящая. Вкус если честно почти ни чем не отличается от оригинала без бочки. Как будто вкус немного выветрен. Снова немного бочки с танинами. Темные фрукты, но не глубоко при этом. Как то странное впечетление осталось.

Black with a minimal light brown head. A fruity nose, with some wooden barrels, malt and chocolate sense. Sweet with a warm fruity and wooden barrels finish. Like with a big L. 02/2020!

Well stored bottle @ home. Clear, brownish amber body under a small, lacing tan head. Rather mild aroma of malt, brown sugar, wood, dry fruit, fig and varnish. Taste is sweet malt, dry fruit, slightly harsh wood, tannins, brown sugar, surprisingly smooth alcohol. Fne body and medium aftertaste. Nice and elegant, but I actually prefeer a well stored version of the original non barreld chimay blue.

Bottle. Clear mahogany with fizzy light brown head. Figs, raisins, brown sugar, Armagnac, vanilla, dry oak, caramel pudding, bourbon. Over medium sweet, less bitter. Over medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Nice beer, complex and balanced. Could maybe have a bit more solid body, but this is the best Chimay oak aged version I've tried so far.

Small cream-coloured head over deep cola-coloured to brown beer. Sweet, almost syrupy nose. Dark malts, alcohol & fusels. Oakwood, chocolate, brandy. Sweet, yet dry impression, nutty and a tad chocolatey. Dry apple skins, glazed with brown candi sugar and brandy. Old wood. Well-bodied, boozy to alcoholheat, chewy, viscous. Not very carbonated. I liked the 2023 (Calvados) better. Still... Txs to Stef!

75 cl bottle from Epicure, at the Brussels-Zaventem International Airport. Served in Chimay chalice, after an extra 25 months ageing in the bottle. A deep and dark burgundy pour, almost brown, with a grayish head that lasts very little but leaves a half-inch disc on top. Aroma is rather sweet: plums, figs, prunes, dates, chocolate, raisins, cranberries, bilberries, a hint of cigar. Velvety, sweetish onset. Full-bodied, candied sip. Thick and mellow, long-lasting aftertaste with notes of smoke and dried fruits. Very, very good.

Mörkt brunröd vätska med rejäl och livlig skumkrona. Framträdande aromer av sultanrussin, mörkt farinsocker och en rejäl fruktkakedeg. Maltkroppen är överdimensionerat söt utan djup komplexitet. Beskan är typ 1A utan närmare eftertanke. Ytlig och fruktansvärt överprisad produkt från ett annars väldigt bra kloster.
