Our champion Mild has a smooth character and taste notes of chocolate malt, which gives this beer plenty of flavour and belies its strength. A British classic crafted to our brewers special recipe makes this a nutty mild and despite being only 3.2% abv it's packed full of flavour.

Hobsons Mild is brewed in the style of a traditional dark coloured Mild ale, using Maris Otter malting barley, pale chocolate malt and crystal malt and British variety hops Fuggles and Goldings from Worcestershire.

In 2019 The Champion won GOLD at the regional CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain Awards!

Delightfully old-fashioned dark mild ale with caramelly and bit smoky aroma, soft rounded taste with some diacetyl, fruity, lightly hop bitter finish. More bitter than usual for this style and quite enjoyable, though unambitious as can be expected from a mild.

Cask @ Worsley Old Hall, Manchester. Deep amber-red with a thick frothy head. The aroma is somewhat neutral but thereโ€™s a lingering chocolate taste in the palate.

Cask at The Ragleith Arms, Little Stretton. Pint accompanying a meal with my future Belgian father-in-law. He quite liked it. I found it fairly malty, with a smooth texture but altogether rather boring. Although I was trying to impress him with English beers on this trip, and this I felt didnโ€™t cut the mustard. Another day, another pub I may take a shine to this beer.

Dark brown color. Very nutty chocolatey nose. Smooth mouth that is graced by pecans, coffee and chocolate. Very malty and light but at every step shows great depth. Subtle lingering pecan pie finish. Excellent. ,
