Tikka Gold a quality premium beer brewed with patience using malt, rice, hops, yeast and spring water. A Pilsner style with Indian character having a good balance of dryness and bouquet of hops and a soft malt character to complement spicy foods.

Kirkas kullankeltainen olut melko pienellä ja nopeasti häviävällä valkoisella vaahdolla. Tuoksu maltainen, viljainen ja makeahko, ehkä aavistuksen hedelmäinen. Maku maltainen, keskiasteisen hiilihappoinen. Ihan toimiva lager, noussee aavistuksen normikeppanan yläpuolelle

A clear gold brew with good head of foam and retention.

Malty nose with some balancing spicy hop bitterness.

Sweetish malt followed by some grain and spicy crisp bitterness from the hops. I especially love the finish; maybe the best part of this session.

Medium body and carbonation.

A nice Pilsner of the German kind brewed in Belgium.

50cl bottle. Base Camp, Helsinki. Clear golden, thin white head. Sweet corn aroma, not much else. Flavor has sweet malt, corn, some metal notes. Well, maybe works with the spicy food, would not want to drink this just for ’leisure’

500 ml bottle from Five Points Liquors, Ventura. Nose of grassy hops, light sweetness, paste, and a hint of butter (diacetyl). Gusher (lost the top 2"of beer from the neck); clear gold with a big off white head. Flavor is tiny bits of bitterness, sweetness, and diacetyl. Very mediocre!

Golden coloured pale body with a thin white head (one centimetre) and a million small bubbles rising from the side & bottom of the glass. Aroma of funky old malt, caramel, fruits (apples and apricots) and a dose of alcohol. Light-bodied; Very very mild meaty taste up front with a dose of malt, some light spices and some more odd meaty type flavours at the end. Aftertaste shows some mild malt, a bit of yeast and a light bit of alcohol. Overall, a pretty mild beer - not absolutely horrible, just lacking in many tastes. I sampled this 500 mL bottle purchased from Half Time in Poughkeepsie, New York on 11-June-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 23-September-2009.

[500ml bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames.] Deep straw with a soft billowing white head; aroma of yeast and coriander; soft dry flavours with lots of floral hops; definitely a Belgian influence. Very pleasant.

Bottle from Market Street Wine Shop Downtown Charlottesville. Lemon yellow color with a persistent and creamy one finger head. Grassy, slightly bitter aroma. Fruity, grassy apple-like taste. Medium body. Not great by any means, but I found this more enjoyable than most of the previous raters seem to.

500ml bottle. Golden yellow color, a little hazy. Aroma is mild and a little sweet. Taste is reminiscent of an Asian crap lager, but has much more quality ingredients and drinkability than the genuine article. Creamy and subtle, this is a nice standard lager. Sort of an oddity among Belgian imports, a tad underrated.

Bottle, Dodgy Deli’, Cowley Road, Oxford Poured golden with a largeish white head. Tasted smooth, creamy, some vanilla, tastes quite light and sweet. A much better beer than I expected and the perfect accompniment to my curry.

Aroma of malt, yeast, and light, faint, maybe grassy, hop. Slightly hazy lemon gold color with a substantial white head. Medium bodied. Hints of lemon and other citrus. Moderate carbonation. Sturdy malt character, but far from sicky sweet. Decent bitter in the finish. Maybe a hint of citrus sour in the back of the mouth. This is surprisingly good stuff. That from an ale drinker. If Bud turned into this, America would rule the beer world (except for Czecho).
