Bottle at home in London. Pours dark, ruby-brown with a medium, beige head. Aroma holds some lactic cocoa, roasted malts. Delicious and complex flavor. Medium to strong sweetness, plenty of rich coffee, dark chocolate, slightly tangy coffee grounds, burnt sugar. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Slightly chewy. Sweet, sticky, mildly warming finish. Prominent filter coffee character, moderate roasted malts, some chocolate syrup. A very interesting beer. Quite a lot going on here. Very good.

Vollmundig, sehr gutes Stout. /14/12/13//13

Opaque black beer, short lived tan head. Nose of coffee and a kind of spicy bubblegun - a little like dentyne. Palate is slightly soft and just slightly dry. Taste follows the nose and then adds creamy malt and subtle wood. Medium sweet dark chocolate comes through. Coffee is quite mild. Sumptuos and tasty!

Bottle from the Kernel Brewery. It pours opaque black, with a thin beige head. The nose is caramel, coffee, chocolate, dark cherry, jam and varnish. The taste is chocolate, roasted malt, smoke, salted liquorice, tobacco, toffee, chocolate, toasted coconut, varnish, berries, vanilla and underlying alcohol, with a dry roasted finish. Full body, fine carbonation and creamy mouth-feel. Great balance, impressively smooth and damn tasty. Boom!

Borefts 2011. Black colour. No head. The flavour is sweetish with a little coffee note. Not much bitterness, but a little sugary.

Sampled at Borefts Beer Festival @ De Molen, Bodegraven. Color: pitch black, opaque. Small white head. Smells and tastes like cold, strong hard coffee. Low carbonation, low body.

Draft @ Borefts Festival 2011, Bodegraven NL. Hazy, light brown colour with a strong off-white head. Smells a bit like faeces (just slightly and not as disturbing as it sounds), hoppy and lemongrass. Tastes biter, hoppy and fruity. Good carbo, bitter and full body.
