Même si je préfère les quadruples davantage sur la force de l'alcool, cette Party's Quad est une belle réalisation de chez De Molen avec une Quadruple qui est davantage liquoreuse avec un sucre relativement présent. Heureusement tout de même que la chaleur du Bourbon et une petite acidité permettent de casser cette douceur pour donner un peu de vivacité. La robe est de couleur bronze (EBC de 94), trouble, sans et mousse et avec une faible effervescence. Le nez est sur la figue, le raisin, le candy et le bourbon avec une petite touche acide. L'attaque est dense avec des arômes de poire, de caramel et d'épices qui apparaissent en complément. L'amertume à 36 EBU permet encore à ce stade de donner une dose de fraîcheur (à noter un houblonnage en Perle et Columbia). Excellente présence pour la seconde bouche où l'on trouve à la fois un alcool chaleureux (à 10,9 %) mais également cette pointe d'acidité. L’arrière-bouche, permet à l'alcool et au Bourbon de bien s'exprimer. Le final long et également chaleureux est très agréable. Voici donc une quadruple qui prend des accents de Barley Wine, mais on entre bien dans la Party.

A deep dark brown quad with a thin light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt dark fruits, bourbon barrel notes, light licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice and complex. In mouth, beautiful mix of sweet caramel and butterscotch, alcohol warmth, bourbon barrel notes, dark fruits, plums, light licorice, very nice. On tap at Saint Bock.

The first of an exchange recently received from my friend. Thanks Benzai, you're aces with me. Just what I appreciate, a quadrupel I would never see in the states. The pour will be into the Borefts 11 tasting glass also provided by Benzai, thanks again. The view is very dark with just a touch of brown showing up at the bottom. The dusty brown head is momentary and then just a rim around the glass. I get a scent of dark fruit and perhaps some chocolate. A drink finally, hmm, this is good. Definitely a boozy presence but not overwhelming. Jammy plum, raisins, whole grain bread, hard candy and dark malt. I have been treated well.

Sampled last year at borefts, bought a bottle and shared now in anticipation of this year's festival! Pours very dark brown, fine head. Aroma is dark malts, spices and bourbon. Vanilla and boozy. Big body, thick mouthfeel. Flavour is smooth, sweet and with a lot of caramel coming from the malt. Still quite a lot of spices. Lot of bourbon, with notes of vanilla, booze and wood. Finishes toffee-sweet, boozy and warming. I find this absolutely lovely.
