#100 rating of De Molen. Bottle at home, 6th April 2024. Pours a thick black stout, minimal head. Aroma is wet wood, liquorice and liquor, coffee. Taste is intense, liquor, savoury, never too sweet, liquorice, salt, wood and barrel. Awesome De Molen pre sell out

On tap at Borefts 2022. Black beer lasting tan head. soy sauce big impy stout aroma. better in mouth. barrel ageing is a bit much for me to be honest. a little hot. that kinda bovril flavour. heat 9n finish. not for me.

Borefts XII Day 2. Big thanks to Ian. Opaque black brown beer, good tan head. Smooth palate, slightly soft and airy, decent fine carbonation. Mellow dark chocolate and dark malt cream. Soft but rich Breckenridge bourbon, fruity, intense and smooth. Smooth and semi dry spicy finish. Rich and rewarding.

Sampled @ Borefts Bier Festival 2022. A black beer with a nice tan head. Aroma of mild whiskey, strong dark malt. Taste of mid sweet strong dark caramelized malt, coffee, vanilla, whiskey.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from online, probably HOTM. Pours black-brown with a dense, cascading beige froth head. Medium sweet flavour, lots of meaty dark malts, roast, booze, torched caramel, bourbon, faint vanilla, aged dark fruits, earth. Full bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Fairly warming finish, cocoa, ashy roast, more dried dark fruits, nips of coffee. Lingering warmth. Solid, hearty.

330ml bottle, at Friends of Ham, Leeds. Pours dark brown towards black with a slim tan head. Aroma: booze, vanilla, roasted malts, toffee, cocoa, oak, liquorice, mocha, raisins and figs. Taste: moderate to heavy sweet, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, plums, dried fruits. Full bodied with light carbonation.
