Old Tom with chocolate is an indulgent rich combination of Robinsons’ award winning Old Tom and the finest cocoa. It is a superior full bodied strong ale filled with the flavour of ripe malt and velvety smooth chocolate teased together with an inspired touch of Madagascan bourbon vanilla.

Castle Hotel, Manchester 21 Jan 13. Flaske 0,33l delt med Rune. Amber. Litt uklar. Lavt skum med litt lacing. Kjempegod sjokoladearoma. Smaken er melkesjokolade. Lite annet - men god.

Klar, mørk gylden. Lille off-white skum. Aroma: mælkechokolade og vanille. Ditto smag suppleret med malt og en smule bitterhed. Kort, tør eftersmag, medium fylde.

Bottle from Biddenden Vineyard Shoppe. It pours deep ruby with a medium beige head. The nose is milk chocolate, earth, toast, light roast, coffee, fruit cake and vanilla . The taste is cocoa, vinous, dark fruits, plum skin, fruit cake, toast, light roast, light spice, vanilla with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A good deal better than the ginger version, but a step down from the regular.

Beer and chocolate - awesome. Dark brown color is topped with a small off-white head. Initially the aroma is nothing but a strong alcohol smell - disappointed. But after letting it breath for some moments, you get an amazing dominant chocolate aroma (similar to chocoltae liqueur). Taste is sweet, chocolatey and pleasanty roasted. Finish is slightly hoppy, but otherwise neutral. After some time the bitter aftertaste kicks in, and rounds this beer.

Heavy found it in Vrutak and shared with me, thanks Natko! Didn’t note the colour, just the small off white head. Sweetish cocoa aroma, quite nice if simple, common among chocolate beers I guess. Cocoa taste mixed with herbal bitterness which shows up near the end, light sweetness, slightly messy but not a bad beer.

Orangebraune Farbe, sehr toller schokoladiger Geruch. Der Antrunk ist einerseits typisch für eine Strong Ale alkoholisch-ale- typisch, andererseits toll milchschokoladig weich. Der Hauptteil hat was von Schokoladen-Likör: weich-schokoladig- alkoholisch. Aber nicht zu süß. Wäre da nicht die Hopfenbittere, könnte man es wirklich für Schokolikör halten. Der Nachgeschmack ist mittellang, alkoholisch-wärmend und milchschokoladig-weich mit leicht herber Note! --> Eine tolle Bier-Schoko-Kreation! Sehr zu empfehlen!! Cloudy....woody-brown with a red tint....light tan head. Chocolate, caramel aroma. Taste is chocolate malt, strong vanilla, cocoa powder... Very sweet, tasty,....dessert-worthy.

Has a pronounced chocolate aroma. Mahogany coloured with practically no head. There’s plenty of chocolate in the taste too, but with a slight orange flavour twist to it.
