Appearance is very dark, just about pitch black with a slight ruby hint. Half finger beige head which dissipates into a light covering. Aroma- coffee, cocoa powder, hint of milk chocolate, some roasty malt. Taste- coffee bitterness, hops, dark chocolate, hint of fudge, smooth, fairly dry finish, medium mouthfeel. Nice.

Bottle sample at a tasting a at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks Vova. Black with a light brown head. Aroma of heavy roast, coffee, a piney hops note and a smoky note. Bittersweet flavor, very roasty, burnt, with coffee and a bitter finish with a smoky note. Quite full-bodied. Very nice, although not too hoppy.

Bottled. A brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has notes of vinegar, roasted malt, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, chocolatel, and a bit of vinegar, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle at Yespr’s - black pour with beige head. Nice mix of roasted malts and hoppy tropical/citrus fruits in the aroma and taste, medium sweet mouthfeel, some caramel, toffee, choc, pretty complex, nice.

Bottle. Black color with almost no head. Lots of hoppy notes, tropical, pine. Big coffee and strongly roasted notes. Taste is quite bitter with light sweetness, later light sourness. Medium body, light carbonation. Ok beer but a bit one dimensional.

(Draught at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels, 23 Oct 2013) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, cocoa and creamy coffee. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, black rye bread and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Quite well balanced, with alcohol well hidden behind everything else. Very nice.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 01/2015.
