Bouteille 341ml.

Originally rated August 2005. Pours a pale yellow-white colour and slightly cloudy. The carbonation is moderate. A small white head is formed and lacing is minimal. The nose reminds me of a witbier (banana bread) with a touch of wheat. The taste starts off mildly sour, then the smooth notes of wheat kicks in. Dry mouthfeel. Reminds me more of a witbier, then a weizen. Kind of disappointing, should have more character.

Bottle: Poured a pale bright golden yellow color weizen with a big foamy head with very good retention. Aroma of banana and ester is quite affirmative and enjoyable. Taste is very refreshing with clean crisp taste of wheat with some banana and subtle touch of citrus. Body is above average for style and I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised because I wan’t expecting much from this one.

Anemic lightly hazed yellow beer with a big bubbled thick white head. Light bananas ans cloves in aroma, with light lemony points. In mouth, nice crisp malt, light clove notes, and definite lemon in finale. Actually quite pleasant, even if bottle is 6 months old.

Draught at Mondial, 6/4/05. Clear, sparkling yellow-gold with a small bit of white foam that recedes to ring, no lacing. Banana and bubblegum in the nose, well-pronounced if somewhat standard and obvious. Flavor is lightly metallic, with fruity yeast, light bananas, dry on the end, with some notes of granular white sugar as well. Sour wheat in the body, more fruits; peaches, pears, apricots. Dry and quite attenuated, but not thin. Pale malt-like graininess, some honey notes as well. Wheat-like even mouthfeel, firm carbonation. I thought this was quite good relative to style.
