Bottle: medium to dark copper pour, next to no head. Large aroma of caramel malt, a touch of alcohol, and some grains. Flavour is very malty, butnot sweet. Its more of a grainy malt, with a good caramel note in the finish. NOt a bad beer really, from the ratings i would say its underrated.

Bottle from a mix 6 pack in Montreal. This doppelbock poured a nice brown and was a malty sweet beer. The mouthfeel is on the thick slightly syrupy side but not too unusual for a bock. It remained sweet without becoming cloying which is a fine line to walk. Nice.

It’s well balanced but there isn’t anything too interesting here. Pours dark mahogany with ok initial creamy head and lacing. Finishes a little sweet, a little bitter. Light roast malt. Bottle from Bieres du Monde.

Évaluation no. 63. Février 2011. Un nez légèrement malté. De couleur brune et claire. Une mousse persistante et parfaite. Une attaque maltée et caramélisée. Un bon équilibre alcool / saveurs. Alcool bien dosé. Excellente.

341 ml bottle acquired in a trade. Pours a clear mahogany color with a medium white head. A sweet nose of caramel, dark candies. Sweet flavors of caramel, dust, cake, some light yeastiness. Very soft and smooth. Pretty nice.

Originally rated July 2008. Thanks to Driss for bringing this one back from Quebec City. Pours a clear amber colour with a slightly creamy beige head, that is not too small, and not too big, but stays a little while, and leaves no lacing. Beautiful aromas of sweet malt, caramel and bread. Medium-bodied with no alcohol burn. The taste is pretty well-balanced, with mild bitterness, sweet caramel malt and the bread. I kind of like this one.

A clear reddish brown lager with a thick light moka head. Very sweet aroma of brown sugar and vanilla, with gin alcohol.. In mouth, a sweetish oily bock, with light nuttiness, very short in mouth...medium bodied. Ho hum beer for the style.

Bouteille 341ml.

Bottle: Poured a clear medium copper color bock with an average size foamy head with average retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet malt is somewhat interesting but no signs of banana or cloves could be detected as I would have expected from a doppelbock. Taste is also dominated by some sweet malt notes and not much else. Body is a bit thin for the style with some average carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I remember really enjoying this beer years ago but this a pale shadow of its former self.
