The Emilisse Stout is enhance by a blend of fine Italian espresso beans used in the brewing process. It boasts a blend of 90% Arabica and 10% Robusta, which combine to give the Emilisse Espresso Stout an extra-spicy, full-bodied palate.

Bottle. Frothy off-white good mostly deminishing head. Black colour. Heavy malty and moderate hoppy aroma. MOderate bitter wonderfull flavor. Nice balance between coffee chocolate and vanilla. Long moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate. nice.

30/06/2012 Ma che siete venuti a fà (tap). Nera, impenetrabile, riflessi color caffè, schiuma biancastra morbida. Al naso intenso aroma di malti tostati, con note prevalenti caffettose. In bocca ha un attacco dolciastro e un finale caffettoso che vira sull’amaro, con buona persistenza. Molto ben bilanciata, corpo medio, scende giù bene. Molto gradevole e ben fatta.

Bottle. Very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee and a little chocolate. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, medium sweet, coffee, little liquorice, hops and medium bitter.

11.16oz bottle poured into a snifter. Pours black with no head. Aroma is mostly coffee with just a hint of dark chocolate. Taste is medium bitter. Strongly coffee flavored. Actually, it tastes like a cup of cold coffee. Medium bodied with a thick texture. Flat carbonation and a very long, very coffee finish. Overall, not bad. Not my kind of beer, but then again, I don’t like coffee. The lady picked this one out, and she has told me she loved it just from one sip.

Bottle: Very dark amber coloured with ruby sparks, medium-sized tanned head with a little lace, coffee, burnt coffee-beans, wood toasted malt and molasses in the really complex aroma; solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied and smooth; lingering coffeeish finish - cough syrup detectable - with a lingering, as well, balancing malt bitterness in the aftertaste. Yes, a goody....

(bottle, 33cl) Dark brown to black coloured with a beige and short foamy head. Roasty, even a bit burnt malty aroma with loads of coffee and dark chocolate, licquorice and yeasty spice and traces of alcohol. Roasty and burnt bitter flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Solid roasty malty body, again with burnt flavours, caramel, licquorice and dark chocolate; lingering roasty bitter finish. Bottle courtesy of ClubGonzo, shared with VANØ Bergen. Pours a hazy brown, with a small head. This is clearly all about coffee. Aroma is a rather sour, not to pleasant, coffee, while the flavour is a sweet variant, where even milk chocolate comes to mind. Not too good.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of light dry coffee notes with light roasted malt is OK though not as powerful as expected. Taste is also an OK mix between some light dry coffee notes with light dry roasted malt with a side of caramelized malt. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. A bit light for style and espresso flavour fell a bit short.
