This gueuze is obtained by mixing ('versnijden'), young and old lambiek. It achieves a beautiful balance between sweet, sour and slightly bitter, which makes it an ideal thirst quencher on hot and humid summer days. It is only mildly sour with touches of citrus, strawberry and caramelised grains.

25cl bottle. Pours a clear orange-brown colour with a small white head. Aroma of sweet and sour fruit, citrus, apple. The taste is sweet but moreso it is sour, some citrussy notes, apple. Overall not great but this is the first gueuze I’ve tried.

Bottle shared. Clear dark golden with an off white head. Aroma of old dishwashing liquid, fake citrus, paint and light fecal notes. Flavour is light moderate sweet and above light sour. Light to light medium bodied with light carbonation.

tap at Gent in Amsterdam - A lambic with sugar and stevia added? What on earth? Why? Especially the stevia... just... why? Okay, this beer is definitely sweet. There’s some funky tartness in there too. It’s medium bodied Despite being baffled by the stevia and the fact that the beer seems to be more of a faro than a gueuze, it still tastes pretty good. I think I’d have liked their fond tradition gueuze more though.

Bottle at home as "Premium Gueuze Lambic". Murky hazel colored with thin white head. Aspartame and cardboard. Some grapelike fruitiness, but very little. A faint sourness in the background. Meeehhh. --- Beer merged from original tick of St. Louis Premium Gueuze on 21 Nov 2017 at 14:01 - Score: 5. Original review text: 2.5

Bottle at Goblins. Clear golden colour. Almost no head. Rather user friendly geuze, lots of caramelly sweetness nicely balancing the quite weak sourness. Clean bubblegum and barn flavour. Good one, not the most complex though.

Bottle at home as Premium Gueuze. Hazy grey-golden with small off white head, looks like swamp water. Some hay, apple, whisky on the nose, moldy bread, brown sugar, brown bread, pee, sour vegetables. Light sweet with soft bitter finish. Bit below medium bodied with light champagne-like carbonation. Has some good notes but the pee and vegetables make this more on the nasty side of things. still drinkable though.

Pours a darker golden with some lazy bubbles, small amount of white head that sheets. Nose of syrup and socks with a nice sour sharpness to it. The taste however only has a mild sour that limits itself more to funk than fruits like sour apple or grapes, with heavy a syrup character that mostly flattens out the funk. Not a lot of complexity here. It’s feels like the Bud of Gueuze, but it’s still a Gueuze so it’s not bad.
