Bottle shared at Chris and Ruth’s pre-GBBF tasting 2015 - London. Pours clear gold with a thick off-white froth. The nose holds varnish, apple and ripe citrus. Medium sweet flavor, woody, with tangy citrus, lemon and apple peel. Full bodied with lively carbonation. Warming finish with lots of drying woodiness and more varnish. Not great.

Bottle thanks to Ian at ChrisO pre-GBBF. Opens with a pop! It pours clear deep gold with a thick white head. The nose is very sweet, apple, pear, melon, pear drops, icing sugar, gooseberry and cheap white bread. The taste is sweet, lightly tart, pear, apple, melon, grass, some acidity, earth, hay and sweet white grape with a dry finish. Medium body and high carbonation. Abut rough round the edges...

Pre GBBF tasting as Chris and Ruth’s. Almost clear gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Airy palate, decent fine carbonation. Sweetish malts and sweet floralness. Floral fruit and something else I can’t quite nail - crystallised fruits or hibiscus or something similar. Light finish brings modest sourness! Sweet and sour tripel. Different! Hides the abv well.
