Pours black indeed ! Smell is roasty, tad sweet, dark cocoa, burnt malts. Taste Is sharp, roasty, intense, ashy, tad bitter. Medium high carbo. Bit colliding ending, where the sweet roasty side collides Ith the bitterness. Mediumly bothering only though.

Bottle, bb 05.06.2015 (from kiht auction). Pours dark brown. Aroma is soapy, roast, clove. Flavor is sweet and bitter, spices, roast, malt. Finish is spicey and roast bitter. Body is thin, but that is expected from over bb bottle. Overall: good. --- Beer merged from original tick of Black Magic Porter on 22 Sep 2017 at 20:23

Bottle shared at Hop Swap February 2017 - Cock Tavern. Pours black-brown with a moderate, creamy tan head. The nose holds light roast, milk chocolate, maybe some faint earthy notes. Medium sweet flavour, lightly drying, with some leathery berries, a little baking cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Slightly drying in the finish, with further baking cocoa, scorched earth, mellow roast, some burnt pine. Enjoyable gear.

Deep brown to black, opaque, moderate creamy head. Nice lacing. A: coffee, earth, roast, fruity & spicy American hop. Medium body. The flavour is interesting. Porteresque notes go along with notable fresh fruitiness. Light bitterness. Quite different one

Bottled 500ml. -Courtesy of kajser27, shared with him, Marko and franski. Almost black coloured, medium to big sized pale brown head, coffee and mild chocolate in the nose. Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, light chicory and some acidity in the finish. Pitty this wasn’t fresh. Out of BBE date for almost two months.

Shared with ogivlado, franski and Marko. Dark brown to black colored, medium tan creamy head, nice lacing. Aroma is of chocolate, some roasted malt, yeast, bit toasty but also alufoil. Taste is medium sweet chocolate, light licorice, roasted coffee, moderate roasty acidity, medium dark chocolate bitterness, yeast, dry finish, choco aftertaste. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bit creamy. Old bottle, the acidity is killing the overall impression. Will repeat with a fresh one!

Thanks kajser! Shared with him, ogivlado and franski. Veery dark, cola-tinged body, with a thick, big, lasting tan head. Coffee, chocolate and raisin mix with herbal hoppy overtones, eh, a sharp note too. Nice coffee-black chocolate mix, getting some herbal notes for a second before disappearing in the underlying tartness. Damn, bitterness. Ehh, would be tasty without the tartness. This deserved less than I gave it, but I was lenient as it might not be the beer’s fault.
