33cl fles van Drinks&Gifts. Bijna zwart, beige kraag. Mooie zachte Vlaams Bruin met iets meer caramel en gebrande mouten. Geen zure stout gelukkig. Volle body, lekker bier.

12/IV/20 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ home, BB: 18/X/20, bottled: 18/X/18 (2020-336)
GUSHER ALERT!
Clear black beer, big dense creamy beige head, stable, non adhesive. Aroma: funky, lots of red wine, some tannins, sourish impression, nice roast, some alcohol, hint of vinegar, some balsamic. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit funky, bitter, acidic, lots of tannins, red wine, lots of alcohol, good roast, malty touch. Aftertaste: bitter, roasted, funky, tannins, wood notes, little sweet, more acidic notes, little sweet, sourish, a bit much on the acidity maybe, but a very original take on a stout.
Paired with pulled pork taco’s and refried beans.

Bottle from BIAB. It pours black with a dissipating tan head. The aroma is funky, musty, crazy fruity, jammy action, blackberry, cherry, fruit compote, vinous, rich roasted malt, umami, rocky road and cacao nibs. The taste is initially dry, roasted malt, very fruity, juicy, jammy, blackberry, grape, vinous, tart, fruit compote, damp oak, earthy, cherry cola, musty, funky and just a touch of spice with a drying and fruity finish. Medium+ body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Good depth of flavour. Moreish.

Sampled between ratebeer and brewver, so not much specific notes. A stout which is a bit tart, rather dry. Easy drinker, but just not a nice combo to me.

Our bruin like, red wine barrel? Finish is dry and stouty. Chocolate, toffee. Interesting.

Bottle at home. Almost black with creamy beige head. Red wine, roasted malts, soft Brett, blackberries, red currants, cranberries, dark chocolate. Quite earthy with sour fruits, wild yeast and some deep wine barrel notes. Almost medium sweet and sour, light bitter. Full bodied with creamy feel. Yum.
