(Can) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark chocolate, black coffee, liquorice, raisins, prunes, hints of treacle and soy sauce. A light smoke touch in the background. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate truffles, black coffee, roasted grain, black bread, raisins, prunes, liquorice, caramel, hints of smoke and a balanced cacao bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Rich and tasty, slightly sweetish, but in excellent balance. Very nice.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, small some alcohol, mild toffee and some berries. Flavour is ripe berries, roast and some mild liquorice tones. Somewhat watery. I think this might be the first slight dissappointment from Buxton in my books.

No head on a Coca-Cola coloured body. Sweet smoky aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a clean back. Sweet malts, smoked, berries, liquorice & toffee tastes. Date stamp unclear - maybe past its best.

Can. Black body under a nice lacing, huge, creamy beige head. Nice aroma of roasted dark malt, coffee, dark chocolate and some piny hops. Taste is nice as well with the same ingrediencies as found in aroma, balanced sweetness, bitterness and alcohol. Fine body with long lasting aftertaste. A really nice well made, honest quite straight forward imp. Stout without any cheap tricks.

23 March 2022. 'Get Rid of Polish Beers Tasting' - thanks for sharing, Meeki!
Cloudy black, small, yellowish beige head. Strong aroma of mushroom, soy sauce, beef stock, melting fudge, chocolate sauce, coffee powder, jerky, whisky. Taste has sweet pum & fig, sourish brambleberry, quite restrained against a toasty malt backbone; umami & earthy notes of jerky & soy, touch of coffee. Herbal & earthy hoppy finish, lingering umami impression, cold coffee & tobacco, warming whisky-like alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Very intense and delicious.

459 ml can. Pours a very dark brown Ruth full tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, vanilla, and creamy coffee. Flavors of dark nutty chocolate ice cream, espresso, and oily roasted malts with a bit of lactose. Good stuff.
