Blimey. Thought this was an old Buxton brew and one I’d missed, and not a Tesco job. Although I’m sure it came from Buxton. What the fuck am I waffling about. Pretty hefty and chewy stout this. Mucky coffee malts and bitter chocolate. Nicely rich and chewy at the (relatively) low ABV. Fine carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Big hit of bitterness to finish.

Can picked up from Beerdome, Webshop, Netherlands and consumed at home Wednesday 14th October cooking Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas listening to Daniel Blumberg and Hebronix - Liv. Pours black with an off white, light beige head. Smooth but peppered with lots of coffee, fruity with a good tang, really roasty. Good

Can from Tesco Inverurie. It pours jet black with a dissipating tan cap. The aroma is rich roasted malts, hard and toasty, liquorice, dark chocolate, umami, savoury, umami character, peppery spice, touch of smoke and BBQ. The taste is dry, bitter, rich roasted malt, earthy, toasty, burnt toast, charcoal, umami, liquorice, toothy malt, cacao, smoked action, peppery spice, Eccles cake and just a touch of alcohol with a roasty and charred finish. Fulsome body and moderate, foamy carbonation. No messing about. Rich roasted maltage. Nice not to have any filthy adjuncts in there for a change.

Troche wodnisty, troche kwaskowaty, chyba byla garsc slodu wedzonego... ale tez niemalo czekolady... ale z kolei zaskok: duzo papierowego utlenienia. Nie zagralo to specjalnie, sredniak w najlepsiejszym razie

Can. Nose is coffee, cream, milk chocolate. Taste is cream, chocolate, thin coffee, slight roast in the licorice finish. Clearly brewed to a price point it's decent for a supermarket beer, but it's not a patch on rain shadow which is one of Buxton best.

Can from Tesco, Brooklands. Rich malty aroma. Booze, coffee and lactose. Dark and glossy. Brown tinge. Creamy beige head. Medium bitter. Underlying sweetness. Some sourness. Gains bitterness into the finish. Medium bodied. Creamy. Flat-average carbonation. Long astringent boozy finish. It's decent but doesn't quite to it for me.

Can at home, 9th July 2020. Pours black, big tan head. Aroma is heavy roasted malts, metallic, coffee and cocoa. Taste is caramel, bitter roasted malts, ash, peat, light caramel and then more bitter ashy finish. Excellent and very Buxton
