The Pier den Drol was created on the initiative of the KBR (Royal Library of Belgium) and the Het Goudblommeke in Papier / La Fleur en Papier Doré, to celebrate the Bruegel year in Brussels in style. We did not want to make a classic witbier, but decided to make a beer close to a white, but without spices and well hopped. The old hops bring both floral notes (hawthorn flower and acacia), fruity (quince, wild strawberries), and slightly spicy (nutmeg, white pepper)

Bottiglia.

Bottle, 5.2%. Citric aroma, a little lemony, but also funky. Cloudy pale yellow colour. Small stable chalk white head. The flavour is mildly citric and has a little sulphurous note as in white wine. Clean and refreshing even though I should have had it fresher.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy pale straw with rocky white head. Mild aroma of yeast and flowers, with hoppy and malty touches. Bitter, hoppy flavour with estery and citric notes and touches of malt. Mildly peppery and corianderlike finish with estery and citric notes. Decent for the style.

330 ml bottle, from Être Gourmet, Belgium. ABV is 5.2%. Cloudy pale straw colour, large white head. Wheaty and citric aroma, also notes of mango and other tropical fruits, hints of mild spices and strawberries. Wheaty flavour, some sweetness, but not too much, pleasant fruitiness, very moderate hops, hints of mild spices. Easy drinking.

330ml bottle. Minimally milky, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, snow-white head. Citrusy hoppy, wheaty malty and minimally funky, yeasty aroma, notes of peach and banana, some mandarine, lemon, a minimally zesty touch, very cautious grainy and floral overtones. Taste is citrusy hoppy, wheaty malty and yeasty fruity, notes of peach, hints of banana, some lemon, mandarine, a minimally zesty touch, very cautious oaty and soapy overtones. Nice composition except for the interference of mis-matching overtones. OK.

0,33l bottle at home bought from Finest Belgian Beers. Bottled 17.09.2019. BB 17.05.2020. quite a lot more foam then beer, hmm, I think I see something that looks quite murky (ne style) and light yellow. uh, white head. smells earthy, bit herbal, spices, bit yeasty, flowery, light coriander, nice smell. full body, bubbly carbonation. tastes earthy, grassy, bit leathery, peppery, spices, bit yeasty, lightly funky. finishes bit dry and bit bitter with notes of peppery, yeasty and some funky notes. nice one, good to drink, good complexity, smooth beer.

330 ml bottle from Etre Gourmet, bottled 17 Sep 19. Yellow, hazy body, with a big, frothy, rocky, off-white head. Aroma of citrus, orange, flowers, straw, dough, wheat, slight peppery spices. Tastes similar. Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation. Finishes medium bitter, quite dry, zesty, citric, spicy, yeasty, wheaty, floral, with moderate pine. Very nice. Although my bottle is pretty old, this still drinks fresh and crisp, as usual with DLS beers. Well balanced between hoppy, yeasty and wheaty notes. Lovely style example. Score: 7 / 4 / 7 / 4 / 15

Flaska från Etre Gourmete. Disig ljusgul vätska med högt vitt skum. Doft av jäst, vete, gräs och örter. Även en liten ton aprikos och persika. Frisk, krispig och fin balans. Gott
